  Although I had decided to leave the borg before I came here, this place is one of the main things that helped me to leave, and to extricate my mental proccesses.

  It is a thriving community, and the fact that the subjects are so diverse help to keep things lively.

  This isn't a religious discussion group, although that takes place, but a home for the healing.

  I believe that by providing this place, at great personal cost to themselves, Simon and Ang have contributed more to a humanitarian cause than most charities or voluntary groups succeed in doing. The fact that it is truly global, in scope, is further testimony to the technological age.

  I just want to give a quick shout out to some of the others, whilst on the topic, because "Freeminds" and "Watchers of the Watchtower World" have also been of great personal assistance to me. There are other groups that also deserve applause, and support, as have been mentioned over the last wee while.

  I have made more good friends, directly and indirectly through these sites, than I dreamed possible. So much for thinking that the life of exJWism would be lonely, huh? Logon any time 24 hours a day and you can probably chat to someone. That came as something astounding to someone living in the furthest reaches of the Scottish Highlands.

  So, in answer to your question, ISP, I don't "like" this place at all - I LOVE IT !!!!

  Out of 66 respondees, it's an equal split between a full beard and a goatie/part beard.

  I have to confess that I didn't realise that facial hair was so popular, on the board, excepting the moustache. I hope you're taking note, guys

  I've cut the profile pic down to #3 & #4, since it's going to be one of those. But I really need a firm decision from Rodbar, butalbee, and Jonah, before I can close the poll properly. Hence there is still time, if yoiu haven't yet voted!!!

  i have a gap in my knowledge re some of the procedures that come into play when someone decides that they simply don't want to be a witness any more.

  just to explain:.

  in my dub years, there were any number of ex-witnesses around.

  If they badmouth the WTS, go to a church, get seen publically flouting moral codes, or smoking, they may get pursued.

  It's got more to do with appearances and WTS image, than anything else. Sometimes it might be done to make an example of them, to scare the remaining members (usually the youths) into being more careful.

  If it was of such little worth, why did Paul make it a major part of his ministry? (1 Cor.2:2)
  Further, the prophecies relating to messiah's death did not involve stoning and bone breaking.
  There are a pile of other things, relating to him being lifted up, as was the copper serpent, etc.
  To those that are interested in that kinda stuff it does matter and is worthy of debate.

  i live near some really interesting stone circles derbyshire england, i love visiting this place, i even went late in the day when it was dark, just .

  to get the feel of what the place was all about.

  some people talk about the personality of each stone circle, strange!

  thank you all who responded to my earlier post, i am pleased to say there has been a major development.

  just twenty minutes ago i was sitting at the piano and my wife comes up to me and says, "i talked to the brothers, you were absolutely right, i apologize, he (my minor son) will never go to the meetings again".

  i sat there in stunned shock both happy and sad at the same time.
