longlivetherenegades you said "the Bible says the Master appoints the slave when he leaves . . ."
Are you referring to Matt. 24:45? I understand but please elaborate. Tks for your question.
And tks for everyone's help.
i was never a jw but i lurk in this forum occasionally, trying to rescue some family.
i will spare you those details.. jw.org and jwfacts are there with youtubes out the wazoo but i would appreciate your thought on this.. i know there are contradictions plenty but this is foundational, blatant and current.
i know they typically just blow off.

ok tks for the help. I realize you are trying to forget this not rehash it. If you can't summarize something
you don't understand it, is a quote i heard once. Let me try that.
At Pentecost the slave was appointed and existed somehow somewhere until 1879 when Russell
and the Bible Students became "woke" so to speak. They functioned as the slave which Jesus noticed
in 1918 (now 1919) and surly will get a promotion at the Great Trib. at which time they will be in Heaven.
This is truncated but is it accurate?

Ok thanks to both Magnum and Earnest. So there was 1 inspection at Pentecost and the "second"
inspection has not happened?

Paragraph 6: This is an adjustment in understanding. Previously, we thought that Jesus’ inspection took place in 1918.

I never was a JW. My question is pretty simple. This Watchtower is for January. Does that mean the whole month?
What does that mean? When will they study this?
i am having trouble locating what is the 1914 prophecy?
jw.org states that the jw's accurately predicted the events of 1914, but do not indicate what the predictions were, or the specific fulfillments.
what do jw's think they are (predictions/fulfillments)?
acer21 even though this isn't helpful to your finding references to 1914, it is interesting.
quote "she doesn't say too much" is why your search is difficult. pot / kettle
we had a nice long talk and i brought up some things that make me think that this isn't the "truth" and she somewhat agreed with me.
i stuck with things i personally experienced or had knowledge of plus all the changes in recent years.
she agreed on a lot of the points but still believes in god and the bible.
JW_Rogue, I never was a Witness and only lurk in this forum occasionally. The reason for my post is
because your say your wife believes in God and the Bible. So do I and this reference below is to the
most educational post I ever read here. You will see the OP was by Cofty. You will also see that he says
he no longer believes in the Bible but he is spot on. He may not believe it but the man knows what it says.
