I don't believe it has been officially announced yet. A brother who's supposedly "in the know" said it was over 1,000 higher than last year, but that is only rumor at this point...

After you've escaped the WT slavery and you've had your fill of it all, most of us move on and try and just lead a normal life and forget about all the "JW Junk"!
I suspect Brother V has done just that, and is living a happy, interesting life, free of worrying about what foolishness the Borganization is up to!

Hare Krishnas? I Know This Site Is For JW But . . .
by InterestedOne ini have learned a lot about cults on this site and cannot thank you all enough for helping me get a sense of what is going on with my jw acquaintance.
as it turns out, another friend of mine told me she goes to the hare krishna temple.
she is a wonderful person, and we have been spending time together having long conversations.

IO - Accepting a person wo judging them prematurely is always a good policy- and being open minded is too. I just talked w some HK in LA recently and they gave me a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, which I thought would be interesting to look at in comparison to the Bible.
So anyway, I'm not interested in joining ANY movement or church ever again, but they still seemed like nice people, albeit a little strangely dressed lol.

The transformation into cult religion: Jehovah's Witness empire in 15 steps
by Terry inthere are only 15 steps from a widely scattered readership of 2nd adventist speculations published by pastor russell into a world wide monolithic control cult.. it reads like a machievellian discourse of absolute power:.
1. nine years after the death of pastor russell his publishing company was being operated by an editorial committee which would review articles pre-publication for the watchtower society.. in 1925 the president of this society (rutherford) offered up an article of extreme controversy.
it was titled the birth of the nation.

Great summary of key events Terry. It reminds me of Cliff Notes of the Gruss book about the 4 Presidents of the WTS.

Ray Franz book's available in audio format! Crisis of Consciencs / Christian Freedom
by Indian Larry ineverybody may already know this but i just happened to discover that crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom are now available as audio books.
they are not legal copies as commentary press did not make a audio version, however someone took the time to read every page of both books into a good mike.
the sound quality is good and they are organized well for a iphone or ipod.

Watchtower Library NOT identical to printed publications
by cedars ini realise the title of this thread will come as no surprise to many of you.
i've certainly heard before of subtle variations between extracts from the watchtower library and the actual printed literature.. what i didn't expect was to find this openly admitted to in the license agreement for the watchtower library, where it says in article 4:.
4. limited warranty.

Here's one reason they have this disclaimer:

An elder told me once that "Ray Franz died as sad lonely man."
To which I wanted to ask him, "And you would know this...how??"
