@Rip Van Winkle - You said: " There are already enough JW's living on the planet Mars!!!"
That wins the "funniest comment of the month award"! Thanks for making me laugh so hard.
one possible scenario for future manned exploration of mars is that the astronauts would be given what amounts to a "one-way ticket" with enough fuel and supplies to get them there and keep them alive but with no plans to return them to earth.. this may strike our modern sinsibilities as an absurd requirement for a mission, and yet it is not much different from what prospect was faced by ocean voyagers during the "age of exploration" right here on earth.
comments?
if you were able to qualify, would you be willing to do this?.

well i figured i should give you all an update.
they will be dfing me soon for apostasy.
it is not a huge surprise and i am not afraid nor "shaking in my boots", however i will admit it is stressful right now.
Not at all! I am planning on doing an article on JWStruggle.com with my full name in the title soon...
It's nice to not have to worry about it anymore!

@EOM - They said I had apostasized from the organization and had to be removed from it.
Then not 30 seconds later they explained how I could return to the Org and it was NOT a spiritual stoning (as I had mentioned in the first 3 hour meeting) bc I could come back.
I said that 2/3 of the people DFed never try and return and that it is one more piece of evidence proving that there was something seriously wrong with the religion.

UPDATE:
Went to the "call back" on Friday, as they did not/could not make a decision on Wednesday. So I met with them at 5pm and they DFed me in short order. It was what I expected and was honestly glad to be done with it. I shared a few more points with the brothers and of course the audio recorder was rolling to capture the last of the saga.
I was unable to use my hidden video as the method I used before was FUBAR after the first meeting- more on that story to come; I plan to do a vid on "how to record a JC" later after I get the whole 3+ hours posted.
Anyway, I related the snubbing story from my other post about when I went to the concert, and then reinforced the point about how this organization has only a thin veneer of love, and are NOT the only group that loves each other.
Once they finished explaining why they DFed me in about 10 minutes or so, I then read John 16:2-4 about how Jesus said that they would expel you form the synagogues and kill you and imagine that they had rendered a sacred service.
Then I prayed aloud for the three brothers, asking that Jehovah forgive them for stoning me. The chairman tried to stop me at first but I continued to pray and he quieted down. I asked that God help me not to have hatred in my heart for these men because they have been misled by the Watchtower Corporation.
And that was it. I am free, I am at peace, and have a lot to do in the cause...Like post all these videos of the whole trial!
PS
The highlight vid I did got messed up and I have to redo it- it won't be til Tuesday or Wednesday that it will be fixed and online, sorry about that, but it's all coming soon!

Wow I noticed this is my 666th post...weird right? Or DEMONIC????
just re-discovered this gem:.
"it is a matter of fact that the history of the watchtower society is riddled with failed date-setting and abandoned doctrine,1 and the society has gone to great lengths to hide this past from its members.
older (incriminating) watchtower publications are virtually impossible to obtain through the society,2 while at the same time members are overwhelmed with "current" watchtower material.. the watchtower society has even gone as far as to publish disinformation about its own history in an attempt to convince readers that watchtower doctrine has remained consistent over the years, and that the society is not a false prophet.
VM44 - link not working...
what would everyone recomend as far as what bible translation to read instead of the jw new world translation?.
@prophecor - I'm curious why you would feel that the KJV is a superior Bible for study- Are you referring to the 1611 version or updated ones? Hasn't their been many improvements in modern translations over the KJ, where they have fixed small mistakes?
Just wondering, not trying to pick a fight I just want your thinking on this!
big news - i met with the elders last night.
they were not arrogant and they were not mean spirited, but of course we all know they also would not budge from the jw brainwashed beliefs they are sworn to uphold.
i let my light shine, and within two minutes of sitting down with them was no longer nervous.. .
@RVW - Thanks bro- I'll take that positive energy and put it in my pocket!
@EOM - There's so many good pieces of reasoning like this. And this is why we need places like this forum, and blogs and sites like JWFacts, JWStruggle, Freeminds, Marvin's great blog, John's ex-JW.com, Cedar's survey site, etc.

An update before I get off this computer for a day or two and enjoy the weekend:
I will be releasing 2, possibly 3 new videos on my YouTube channel, JWSTRUGGLE this weekend. One of them will be an 8 minute highlight reel of the 3 hour judicial meeting.
My prayer is that documenting this will help a lot of people escape the Witnesses, and comfort those of us that need these reaffirmations of our own personal decisions and situation.

Meet Mr. _______ our newest JW.net TROLL who is making his views and intentions clearly known on this thread!
I KNEW he'd become more and more popular!
what would everyone recomend as far as what bible translation to read instead of the jw new world translation?.
The Holman Christian Standard Study Bible is by far my favorite translation now.
And E-Sword is a great tool I use it almost every day, and just got the NWT for it finally so it is easy to compare Bibles and you don't need to be online.
For light reading and encouragement, the Message Bible is awesome too. Great advice from a lot of Bible lovers out there on this thread! I love topics like this one!
