  if creepy contact lenses, facial piercings and people who talk insanely fast (and over-use the word "legit") are not your thing, then don't watch this video!.

  i can actually remember at least a couple of instances where someone revealed they were gay on the doorstep to my partner and i and this didn't get rid of us immediately, but it did force us onto the back foot.

  go and read it again at acts 5: 11. ananias and sapphira drop dead at peter's feet for "playing false to god/holy spirit" by not giving all of the money to peter that they got from a field they sold.

  ananias and sapphira were christians.

  they wanted to help the poor and so sold one of their possessions, a field, and gave most of the money to peter.

  well i spent a few weeks putting this one together it took sooooo much longer than i thought it would, but as you know, a few of us many of us on jwnet spend way too much time fighting the "watchtower power" hehe.

  here's a couple paragraphs:.

  so i had been thinking about how hard it can be to tell the difference between a high quality product, the "genuine article", and a knockoff or an inferior product recently.

  @SD-7 - So true about Catholics!! And the Dubbs have become way worse than the religion they have derided all these years, how ironic. Ray Franz talked plenty about those comparisons in his books.

  this year is not going so great.

  lost my love, got forgotten on my birthday, car got hit the day before my birthday, car got hit yet again last weekend, and today i got a flat tire.

  Actually very good quality and catchy too. It will definitely help indoctrinate the youth on the name "JEHOVAH" also, which is part and parcel of the brand name(s) they are selling to their constituents.

  A JW got checked in my congo

  the announcement was something like "[name] got checked".well if he ain't got df'ed then what does this mean?is it based on the bible?where does this policy come from?how is the rest of the congregation supposed to behave to that person in a situation like this?what happened in the background anyway?is he checked for a period of time or what?any restrictions?.

  XPeterX can you be a little more specific? Was there a talk about his/her wrongdoing? What was the exact wording of the announcement? "Checked" is not a WT Org term. (unless we're talking another language and you are translating perhaps)

  In the years I was an elder we never announced a "marked" person by name, and unless something's changed recently the El-durs went outside the WT policy on that one...

  there is discussion of doomsday cults at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/doomsday_cult, and much of it aligns closely with watchtower predictions and behaviour, so i was wondering why jehovah's witnesses are not mentioned.
