@SweetBabyCheezits - I hope you are moving on with your life and doing well. If you have a minute, what has been the aftermath? How have you grown and how do you look at the whole thing now that some time has passed?
hey i'm wondering if anyone can give some good advice on how to step down in the safest way.. i have served as an ms for a number of years, but can't do it anymore.
i know too much i want to fade in the future when i get some family things straightened out.
i can't move right now so that's out unfortunately.. what should i tell the body?

Ugghh - Have a number of people I have to call and tell before any annoucements are made or they hear it through the grapevine.
I feel I owe at least a couple of close friends/family members that because they will be very disappointed/confused as to why I am no longer serving.

just wondering how to capture it all if it ever came to that.. .
Such a large pool of experience is here it is amazing. These are star-chamber black holes that no one but elders are supposed to know about. I've tried to tell the wife how this sh!t works and she won't believe me. She certainly won't come on here either lol so there you go.

@found sheep - I like you more every time you open your mouth! It's a good thing no one is "real" on the internet or my massive crush on you would drive me insane lol. Wife is taking it fairly well and understands why I have to do it. I was an elder for many years in the past and "stepped down" from that but that was long before I ever woke up to the truth about the truth. Started being used again and made an MS a couple years ago. It was very weird doing MS stuff since it had been so long- I barely even knew how to do the back counter!

One small update: Went to my first meeting in two weeks last night and NOT EVEN ONE elder stopped and said hello to me. They all did the i'm-busy-shuffling-papers-walk-past-fast routine. Not that I minded...

Actually am doing a very slow fade. Am going to "witness" about CoC and the things I've learned to the two or three real friends I have that are asleep in a very very cautious way. Just trying to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
My wife is a hardcore believer and has agreed not to "tell on me" but she won't hear a word of it when I try and speak with her.

So here is an update- I finally did it:
Submitted my "step-down" letter explaining that my poor health was making me a bad example a couple weeks ago, and have missed all meetings since then. No calls received from the elders but ONE the day after I gave him my letter. I didn't answer it of course, his voicemail was actually nice he said I hit them by surprise but they respected my wishes.
So two weeks has gone by and no visits or calls. The CO visit is soon approaching so I figure they are waiting for that. Am a bit nervous but have practiced potential questions and my responses like it was a mini-talk or demo on the assembly so I feel fairly ready. We shall see.

The wacky six screen guy hid a recorder in an older publication and then left it in the room when they dismissed him. Maybe he's not so wacky after all, lol.
