Watchtower admits, "We are like the Catholic Church"
by Juan Viejo2 incalvin rouse describes himself as "general counsel for the national organization of jehovah's witnesses out of brooklyn, new york.".
while representing one of the defendants during a trial held in san mateo county court in redwood city, california, on february 22, 2012, rouse made this amazing statement:.
"ordinarily, i wouldn't be here, but this is one our 13,000 congregations in the united states.

The Congregation just paid flowers and other expensive for the PO COBE who died two weeks ago?
by life is to short ini have never in my whole life heard of this being done but at my husband's hall they just asked the congregation to pay about $250.00 to help with the cost of the dinner after the memorial and for flowers.. i was a jw for over 45 years and i have never heard of this.
when my parents died who had been jw's for years i felt lucky fortunate to even be able to use the kingdom hall for their memorial.
i am just speechless at them giving money.

That is NOT kosher and very irregular. But anything over $200 they have to "ask" the cong and get a raise of hands, so they got that part right.
Guess how many times a congregation didn't vote "yay"...

Wilbur Lingle, author of the new book "What The Watchtower Society doesn't Want You To Know"
by koolaid-man inthe jehovah's witnesses, come to your door with promises of "great love", inner peace, and a utopian future.
but what are they not telling you?
wilbur lingle, author of the new book, "what the watchtower society doesn't want you to know" puts in to layman's language his many years of documented research about the inner workings of the society, including the true character of its leaders, the false phrophecies they have made, their strange doctrines and ideas, etc.

I know this an old thread but wanted to comment about it.
I read Mr. Lingle's book and it is a very good resource for trying to calmly reason with an asleep JW.

Scans of WT vs. bound volume: Paul saying work finished "by end of 20th century" changed to "in our time"
by tomrobbins inhello, looking for the actual scans.... i have looked through the search function here on jwn but can't find the actual scans of the magazine that states something like: "paul said that this preaching work will be finished by the end of the 20th century" and then scans of the bound volume of that same issue where the wording is changed to something like: "paul said that the preaching work will be finished in our day".
there are the direct quotes available in the jwn search but i'd really like to have the actual scans of the pages.. does anyone have the pdfs that they could post?.
my jw mom was ripping on the mormons for changing their doctrine in printed word the other day... so this would be interesting to have on hand if she brings stuff like that up again.. thanks!.

AJWRB changing its title and mission statement
by Shawn10538 insince my interview with dr. joy fridey of the red cross, it was revealed to me that there is no medical definition for the term "bloodless," "bloodless medicine," or "bloodless surgery.
" basically, every doctor and every patient has their own idea of what constitutes "bloodless.
" but according to dr. fridey, there is no definition of bloodless medically speaking.. one thng for sure, for those doctors who actually use this term or for the watchtower society who has probably introduced this expression into the consciousness of society and the medical profession, bloodless does not ever mean... bloodless.. (see ajwrb.org article in the official ajwrb blog.).

I'm behind you Shawn- great work keep it up. One question though- why a new title and mission statement? What is it?
That's the title of this thread right?

"I worked hard as a Ministerial Servant and all I got was this lousy drinking problem!"
by Mr. Falcon ini was driving home the other evening pondering the past couple of turbulant years for me and my family.
i reflected back on my appointment as a ministerial servant and my attitude, beliefs and thinking at the time.
i thought about the subsequent misery that being a servant brings once the the glow wears off and people stop "commending you on your fine spiritual progress.

Mr. Falcon you are cool, funny, and handsome too. I can soooo relate to this post. Just be careful you don't overuse the bubbly. It can catch up with you.
There never was any Holy Spirit involved in appointing any of us, and I'm one of the ones that still does believe in God's HS lol. Some guy in the Service Dept. stamps "approved" on your recommendation and then they deputize you and give you a gun and a badge.
That's all there is to it.
