  WT application of James 1:27 - looking after widows and orphans

  since the bible is clear on helping widows and orphans, needy, poor, etc, it's interesting to see how the wt twists these scriptures to make their followers feel they are following it when they really aren't.

  because it costs money to really help those and the wt wants the money themselves.. here are some wt quotes directly on fulfilling this obligation of james 1:27 -.

  Great topic EoM. When I met with the elders for my apostasy trial I read them this verse and said plainly that they were not doing this, all three tried to speak at once. Then the elder named Dennis (I believe) said, "Eric I take OFFENSE at that!"

  I've NEVER been able to access my account or change anything and I've had it for years. Can't change avatar either and I've tested the gravatar on other sites it is done correctly.

  i celebrated halloween and my birthday and the elders have been told.

  husband told the elders i've called the religion a cult.

  they said i'm "heading down a road to be an apostate.

  Saturday morning coffee and a new video...

  hello all and happy saturday morning!

  (at least in my part of the world it is morning).

  i am sleeping in and drinking coffee... while on this day five years ago i would have been stuffing my appendages into an ill-fitting suit to go out and stump for wt coffers!

  at the time, my father had clued us in that it was coming and had gotten a recording of it.

  are we not also obliged to act on wrongs being committed by a family member or members?

  The underlying attitude of many JWs is same as this fellow... he probably didn't even want to be out that day but needed his field-serve-us time to placate the elders/his wifey/etc.
