Equal Rights and Women's Rights in Israel
by designs inan important battle is brewing in israel between a orthodox sect and women's rights in public.. http://news.yahoo.com/jewish-gender-segregation-campaign-turns-violent-135056846.html.
since the news broke last week that a woman had been beheaded in saudia arabia for being a witch, and with the legal and physical assaults against abortion clinics here in the us the role of religion in society continues to demand our attention and activism..

Uh-oh designs, it's the fortold attack on religion!
In all seriousness. Your absolutely right. Extreme religion is extreme.
Women's rights activists say that the ultra-Orthodox -- around 10 percent of the population -- have become increasingly radical over gender segregation and are winning concessions that harm women.

I think the GB isn't even trying to hide what they are anymore. It's full frontal now. Obey us, or else. No hidden message. Just do it.

I believe that if religion helps people lead better lives then there is nothing wrong with those persons being members of a religion. -LizLA
Religion also hurts others, i.e. shunning.

WOW! How's That for the Stance on Blood?
by Yan Bibiyan inwhile taking another stab at the practices of mainstream christianity (to hold services on a particular day), the wt strangely explains what "abstaining from blood" means in acts 15:.
september awake 2011. on page 10:.
"...the scriptures indicate that some commands.

w86 1/9 pg 23. "Pious respect for blood".
I won't cite the whole thing because my WT CD is in Spanish.
However, I will translate a portion.
Therefore, idolatry, the eating of blood and fornication are at the same level religiously. Cristians have to abstain from these things in order to conserve good spiritual health and to participate of the fullfilling of God's promises. Respecting blood, whether it be eaten by mouth, or be transfused through veins, the purpose is the same: sustain and feed the body. As the governing body clearly indicated, failure to abstain from blood is a violation of God's law.
So, on the one hand, it admits it is eating through the mouth that constitutes eating blood, but then they go on to say that transfusion is also eating. It's been argued before already with JW apologists that blood transfusions ≠eating blood, because when taken through the veins, it is no different than an organ transplant.

Thanks for the clarification, Terry. I figured as much, but I wanted to make sure (especially since you have a similar thread going on).

What? From whose perspective are you writing this? A person that is still JW, but is awakened?

I've been crunching the numbers, and the concept of Santa Claus doesn't add up
by keyser soze inmaybe i'm overly skeptical after years of having been lied to by the wt....but from a purely logistical standpoint, the idea that he could cover the amount of territory necessary in the amount of time allotted, just doesn't seem feasible.. now, granted, there are certain variables in the equation that are highly speculative, such as the speed he would be travelling at.
it's quite possible that reindeer travel faster through the air than by land, maybe quite faster.
but even if we assume he is travelling the speed of a lear jet, and you factor in all the differen't time zones, i still don't see how he has enough time to complete his task.. am i missing something, or is the story totally bogus?.

Keyser soze, but you don't want to die at Armaggedon get coals in your stockings now, do you?
Remember, he sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake.
You just have to have faith believe that God Santa exists. I am sure that if you just stop questioning thinking so much, why, there will be 2 gifts under your tree! Love and peace for the year! That's what Santa gives me every year! Even though I specifically asked for 3 jumbo jets, I'm sure I haven't gotten it because I haven't been turning my time slips in been good.
