Awake openly mocked on website...
by Tuesday inhttp://blogs.sfweekly.com/exhibitionist/2012/02/5_hilarious_social_media_image.php.
this is actually not a former witness or anything, this is a cracked style article.
i think it's pretty funny, i think it's evidence that the wt is not going to be around forever.

Could the reason, in part, for canceling Congregational Book Studies in a private home be due to pressuring DF'ed to continue meeting attendance?

Does the Christian message fall apart without a literal interpretation of Genesis?
by nicolaou in.
what's the point of jesus if adam & eve did not 'fall' and condemn us all to sin?.

It most certainly does.
Romans 5:12-21
New International Version (NIV)
Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Explain that away with your cherry-picking. Either Adam was the 1st human, or none of this matters.

Is there any actual evidence for the premise in Idiocracy? -rebel8
I think it's more a reflection of the decline of the US. Obviously it needs to use hyperbole to get the point across, but I wouldn't put it so farfetched.

Blondie, your opening post describes quite well what I was thinking as I had to sit through the study today.
I thought Jehovah didn't play favoritism? I guess Jehovah's golden boys get off the hook easy.

FDS says - "No need to check our work. Besides, it will only make God angry."
by Crisis of Conscience inthough i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.
and then i come across this number below, which is how i arrived at my title for this thread.
***w81 2/15 p.19 do we need help to understand the bible?***.

If they started out with a bias to believe Paul and didn't examine things critically, in what sense did they check things out at all? -Ding
Exactly. To top it off, the only "message" they had to verify was the messianic prophecies concerning Jesus. It had nothing to do with looking for an organization. Once they verified that, they could accept the simple message.

beyond rationalism
by maksym injust wanted to know if could something exist and be true without empiricism or science.
so the question is like love.
can we empiricanly define love or morals or ethics without empiricism.. .
-
Knowsnothing
No. Then again, love is a very subjective concept and broad word. Love is ultimately the greatest unselfishness that can be displayed, in benefit of another than one's self. You can't judge art empirically. It is something scientifically unmeasureable, because it depends on the people, time, culture, etc.

Meta, even if they dropped, that is only a temporary thing. As the ice caps melt more, where is the water going to end up? In the atmosphere as well? Doubt it.

eliminate global warming worries
The damage is already done. As sea levels rise and inundate coastal areas, expect mass exoduses and salinization of fresh water supplies and arable land.
