  i see memes as a very effective way of getting the truth about the truth across without lengthy debate.

  Stop Putting Apostate Stickers On My Literature! They "Cost Lots of Money!"

  "true story" the circuit overseer came to our kingdom hall and read us the riot act (local needs style) "magazines of this quality are not free, they cost money and we are not generating enough donations to defray the cost of the magazines(or running the top of the line printing presses) i get my ass out of bed to place literature in the laundray cleaning, coin opperated shops and some asshole puts his apostate stickers on our magazines.

  do you know how hard it is to get up at 6:00 am and how expensive those magazines are costing the organization to print?

  please stop defiling our literature, i dont post hateful stickers on your website so please leave my magazines alone.

  Whether or not the Flood can be substantiated notwithstanding the archaeological and biological evidences against it is an altogether different argument.

  So, do you think there is evidence for the flood? By flood, allow me to be specific as in the Global Flood as described in the Bible that most fundamentalists, Jehovah's Witnesses included, accept as literal, factual history.

  I know your busy with reviewing Gentile Times, but I think proving/disproving the veracity of the Biblical accounts or at least the perceptions held of them seem rather an important issue, don't you? The Gentile Times is mainly a JW topic, whereas divine authorship of the Bible permeates to the other branches of Christianity, and ultimately saves us a lot of time on our quest for truth.

  Legalizing petty drugs like marajuana, although it would just be so much better if society as a whole dropped the whole drug culture, but we know that's not going to happen any time soon.

  Stop selling them to private corporations.

  Look at reforming the individuals, not putting them in a place that makes them worse.

  Evidence of Supernatural Ability

  i would be interested to hear members' views on:.

  a) what they would consider to be a supernatural ability and.

  b) what they would consider sufficient evidence to convince them it was genuine.. (it's late here so if i don't participate for the next few hours don't think i cut and run :)).

  sounds like a reasonable list to me. As an aside, I can't see anything on it which, if it turned out to be genuine, would necessarily involve the operation of

  'spirits' of any kind, would you agree?

  I agree, except I would then be curious as to just how such a feat was accomplished. It really would leave open more questions than it answers. Oh, so-and-so has telekinetic powers do they? Well, how the hell do they have that power? What allows them that power and not others? You see what I mean?

  I don't discount the 'supernatural' just yet, mainly because I have a good friend that he says went to a 'Santero' and was told many things that only he himself knew. Maybe there is a spirit world, but they choose to interact with us whenever it's convinient for them. Perhaps, that's why it's called the 'occult' afterall. You can't know unless you immerse yourself in it, and by then it's too late. Just my two cents.

  a) what they would consider to be a supernatural ability and.

  3.) Predicting the future.

  b.)

  This part of the question is a bit more complicated. For all the tests, ensure there is no foul play. Make sure the psychic, spirit medium, whatever, doesn't know any information about me. Must know something only I could know.

  There is also a problem here on the testability of these phenomena, if they exist. Say spirits do exist, can we guarantee they will act on command? As an example, just because I can do a triple sommersault doesn't mean I have to. If someone wanted to verify that's possible, but I do not wish to act, how can my assertion be verified that I can indeed do a sommersault?

  it was a number of years after i left the watchtower that i finally admitted to myself that i had never really investigated evolution.. i thought i was already an expert on the subject despite everything i knew about it coming form a source that was attacking the theory.

  when i began to reserch evolution objectively i was astonished by the breadth an depth of the evidence.

  i have been reading books and articles on the subject for around ten years now and always find it to be fascinating and inspiring.. a couple of years ago i began to write a summary of dawkin's book on the jws forum with the intention of helping any lurking jws who could not dare be seen reading the book for themselves.

  Cedars, you can be a bit sensationalist at times. This should be a non-issue. Let's focus on the real issues of the WT, such as false prophecy, totalitarian regime, shunning, quote mining, etc.

  Paul said it himself. All that personal sacrifice, all that preaching, it would all be in vain.
