I just got back to the thread tonight and saw your question. No, that part I haven't shared with the forum yet but was planning to very soon, as it is to be a part of a series of open letters that I plan on sending directly to the Society.

Yup, it was rather interesting, and there was quite a bit of "concern" here for a time about it. I actually did contribute to one or more being removed on three occasions. It took a year or two for them to figure out some sort of payback.

My method was definitely "in your face", as force and intimidation seems to be the only language they understand here. It's a very conservative locale.

There is one letter that I've posted here though. "Spanking A Body Of Elders" is its name. It shook them up big time. Hehehehehe!!! Heres the address:

I must explain something though. My purpose was to make them back off, however with the odds so badly stacked against an individual trying to buck this Organization alone, I needed a little leverage. Therefore I used some of their mind games against them. It worked, but it also shakes other people up too. So be forewarned.

larc --- I've read Letters to Earth. It's excellent, and well worth looking into. I recommend it.

To all --- I've seen many references to the theory that the Bible's account of the Flood is based on the Babylonian fables, etc., and I realize that many scholars teach that. However, I strongly feel that they are overlooking one major point. In comparing the two accounts, it soon becomes apparent that they are told from two vastly different viewpoints with animosity toward the other side being quite evident in the Babylonian version.

This is especially true in one account I have here at home, in which the gods Bel and Ninip chew out the god Elu for having caused the flood. Rather than having one taken from the other, comparing the accounts lends credance to the idea that they were both written independently of the other, yet of the same event.

Indeed, comparing the two gives one an excellent lesson on the subterfuge Satan used at that time. Of course, one needs to realize that the Bablyonians had their own names for the various characters, just as they had for Daniel and the three boys. However, the accounts are so similar in the specifics described that it leaves no doubt that it is the same event.

If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to post parts of that account here. I say parts, as this account is a highly expanded telling of the Flood, with a great amount of detail included that is not in the Bible. It's lengthy.

POSITIVE: To Bill Bowen & SilentLambs

this is intended to be a positive treatment of the issue by pointing out some very useful things to bill bowen and the silentlambs organization.

i am staying clear of responding to bill's last comments as to debating things he stated which are irrelevant and not accurate.

The fact that BB and RF had a dispute is not important in my mind. They are both human beings, and in the stress of the times there are going to be things said or done that are not the most advantageous.

In my mind, the important thing is the way they are handled. One who is up front and mature will take direct action and face his or her imperfections without waffling. "I screwed up, and I apologize." goes a long, long way towards building trust and faith. Those who can't do that haven't grown up yet.

In this case, Bill and his followers have chosen the typical, whiney way that much of society has adopted in the last 40 years. When proven wrong, instead of being up front and caring for it in a mature manner, they pooh-pooh its importance, counterattack, claim to be persecuted, get all emotional, and anything else they can think of that will deemphasize the fact that they screwed up.

Until that day comes that Bill can find the manhood to post an apology right here on this board, the very forum where he screwed up, and quit the whining, then I would strongly suspect that he is good evidence that the Peter Principle is alive and well.

I am glad that he has had the successes that he has. I am also glad that the lawyers have entered the fray, for I suspect that his influence and effectiveness is on the decline. Someone will need to step into that vacuum, for the issue is far more important than someone's pride.

Those victims need more than a flash-in-the-pan.

I too must agree that your thoughts are excellent and that you shouldn't worry about inadequacies. You're doing fine.

About AOL --- I have it too and sometimes it will kick you off if there hasn't been enough activity. If you're doing only a short answer or email, you will probably have time, but for the long ones I usually use one of the writing features available on the computor when offline. I use Microsoft Word. That way you can take as long as you want, and can save it or whatever you want to do.

Once it is done, hi-light it, then right click and click on "Copy" Then go to your email or here on the board and use the "Paste" feature that's on the bar above where you want to put it. That's where all the little icons are. If you put your cursor (the thing on the screen that moves when your mouse does) over the icon and hold still for a second or two, a word will pop up telling you what it is for. Just click on "Paste", and everything you just copied will appear in the box.

Hope this is understandable and that it helps. Keep up the good work.

as i remember, both greenlees and chitty have been exposed as such.. now there are accusations that ted jaracz is also.. ask yourself something: how did jaracz get to be at the top of a "christian" organization when almost nothing about his personality reflects anything that is christian?

which of the fruitages of the spirit could you associate with his conduct?.

You are absolutely correct, anyone can make an accusation. I too am well aware of that and like to make the same allowances as you mention.

The trouble with this situation is that there have been so many dispicable things happening lately that absolutely nothing would surprise me about them any more. Sometimes it's best to be prepared for the unthinkable. One can do that and yet still not "convict" them in that sense.

Instead, my inclination is to examine everything with a cold, hard examination and refuse to take anything they have to say without verification. They deserve no trust whatsoever. This includes even those (at the top) who are probably innocent, for most of them have deliberately closed their eyes to the wrongdoing of others for the sake of peace, and/or in an attempt to save their own hides. Then again there are those who are not strong enough to face the hard truth that their "shepherds" are really wolves in sheep's clothing.

All three of these alternatives are matters that contraindicate any trust in them, individually or collectively. I can see and feel strongly in the latter two circumstances that forgiveness and consideration can be called for, for who of us are without guilt in these departments in one way or another? But trust is another matter. First they would have to prove that they have faced the truth squarely and not allowed the fear of man to affect their decisions.

I view this whole situation as being much like the time the Nation of Israel was supposed to go into the Promised Land. They sent out the 12 spies and only two of them came back with a favorable report. The whole nation chickened out, and the punishment was that ALL males 30 and over (except Joshua and Caleb) were condemned to die in the Wilderness. Why, in view of the fact that the decision was made by the leaders of the nation? It's because they all, right down to the lowliest shephard, had the responsibility to speak up. Due to the fear of man, they didn't.

The same principle holds true here. They loved the glamour and prestige of being of an elite class, but shirked the responsibility that goes with it.

I think that you are right, I do need to read C of C. I was of the impression that much of Ray's situation occurred before Jaracz's tenure. Apparently I'm wrong.

But you are too in one sense. One doesn't need to belong to a body of elders to be very familiar with the tactics of assertive men. I turned down a position during the original meetings set up to establish the elder arrangement as they wanted to bend a few rules in order to get it. After that there was an unending series of elders who wanted me to "reach out", but first I had to acknowledge the "pecking order". None were ever able to establish it, for every time they tried, I ended up on top.

Now there are accusations that Ted Jaracz is also.

Ask yourself something: How did Jaracz get to be at the top of a "christian" organization when almost nothing about his personality reflects anything that is christian? Which of the fruitages of the spirit could you associate with his conduct?

Men who are guilty of such wickedness (pedophilia) would be unable to trust anyone other than others who are guilty of the same conduct, and that sort of bond would be extremely tight, though not necessarity close. The reason is simple: If one goes down, they all do.

I have no proof at all of the thoughts that I am expressing here. However, such a scenario would explain some things:

Why were the two aforementioned men not disfellowshipped, at least? Apparently the only reason any action at all was taken is that it became known. That being the case, the leaders would have to do something before their whole edifice was exposed. Yet they wouldn't dare do too much, as those offenders would have the power to do that exposing. Ergo, the slaps on the wrists.

Secondly, it would explain the lenience and tolerance of the pedophiles within the congregations.

Now, it would not be necessary for all officials at the top to be in on such things, but for those who were, there would be certain things that could be expected of them, when looked at from a profiling standpoint.

We would expect them to form a clique that is secretive, paranoid, and extremely hard for someone on the outside to approach. There may be conflict within, but even if one hates another, he will go to drastic lengths to protect him.

We should find that their personalities are egomanical. They would view everyone else as mere fodder for them to enjoy. Little if any of their conduct towards those on the outside would reflect any form of christianity or christian values. Lying and the destruction of innocent people would mean nothing to them.

They should be obsessed with power and authority. They would not brook any questioning of either. After all, it is herein their safety lies.

They would be masters at leading a double life.

Again, I have no proof that such a clique exists. However, I would strongly advise that people walk softly and carry a big stick until we know for sure.

I've long wondered what it is that Jaracz has over the rest of the FDS that would make them agreeable to the crap he pulls.

just out of curiosity, has anyone here that was raised as a jay-dub felt resentment or anger or animosity toward thier parents?

i wanted nothing to do with the cult even at a fairly early age, but would a person feel that way if they had believed as a teen?

Your answer kind of puzzles me. What you say is true, but isn't that the exact thing that the legend is pointing out? Note the last two paragraphs:

"How soon they had forgotten what Creator had told them! They believed that they had the only One Truth and that somehow everyone else had been fools. They became defenders of their truth. And they fought for their truth. And one day they began to kill for their truth.

"They had forgotten what Creator had told them about sharing and about listening and about coming together. That is why people still fight today. And so my gift to you all, is to share the Truth of the Light that lives within me, and as I tell this story, I stretch out my hand to you, in the hopes that you will tell me your family stories, and that soon together we can all be at peace."

Your point, that "truth" strongly defended is the cause of most of the world's woes, seems to me to be the one of the reasons for the tale in the first place, then in the last paragraph is the beautiful admonition that we should be willing to listen to each other and try to understand.

But perhaps I misunderstand where you're coming from?
