My thoughts: Bill Cosby, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, MLK, Mal. X, etc. does not speak for the entire Afro-American race. They are people great in their own right, they have many fine points to make, I respect them and their accomplishments, but they don't represent me.

The elder knew and not only didn't tell you, but more importantly, he didn't report the situation to the authorities. What a difference it would have made in the lives of those being abused if they had gotten the proper help from qualified professionals!

if there be something i remember well in my younger days it was telling someone something in the congregation in confidence, only for them to then grass you up to the elders, how did you feel, do you feel about grassers?.

so today i'm driving home and a block from my house there's a boy on the ground.
he'd been hit by a car while riding his bike.
everyone had stopped and i ran up to help if i could.
It made me so angry - there was no way of knowing how badly the boy was hurt, and those extra 5 minutes (had they been home) could have potentially, for all this other boy's JW dad knew, be the last time they could have seen their son alive.
What a disgrace. I hope that one day this JW wakes up enough to be embarrased by this behavior -- the extent some go in their shunning is shameful.
