This F'n cult does not let anyone live their lives in peace. Guy's don't worry about it. If you have been out 5 years and the family member are still talking to you, then you are ok with them. I doubt that it was the Christmas light alone though. Was there an inflatable Santa or Frosty too? I mean.. then that would definitely would have been apostasy. Just kidding. Live you life and pay no mind to this freakish cult.

I still live near to the KH where I used to attend. Across the street there is a biking/running path which I go to several times a week after work. They have quite a large parking lot and several congregations participate using this place. I agree with you all that I would like nothing more than to see this religion exposed for the false prophet that they are and see their numbers drop to zero. Yet, I am amazed that this parking lot is always full. I mean... car's parked on lawns full. With all of the info that is out there exposing their fraudlent organization... How in heck are all of these people still there? Have they hired David Copperfield the illusionist? It puzzles my mind. Don't get me wrong.. I have noticed a decline in field service in this area. Several years ago they were a constant presence. Now you hardly ever see them. But. mass exodus? Don't see it happening. Their Loss Prevention people are very good and two steps ahead of the unwitting Witness. No pun intended on the last comment.

30-minute Public Talk = More association ???
by Alfred init's been nearly 5 years since the letter was read at the end of the service meeting.
the society would lovingly decrease the public talk to a brief 30 minutes, eliminating the 15-minute doom-and-gloom introduction and thereby resulting in lower heating and air-conditioning costs allowing for more "association" after the meeting.... for those who still go to meetings... do you find that there is any more association with the 30-min public talk when compared to the former 45-min public talk?.
please share your observations.. thanks!.

Yep, I always ran home as soon as the meeting was over like most people did after making sure that some of the elders saw my "token" appearance and I remained in "Good Standing". Besides... the "brotherly love" was as fake as a $3.00 bill. Then I didn't give a crap and just stayed home. With gas prices the way they are... going to the meetings is way too expensive. Just say'n...

Today's text 22 April 2011 Stay thick!!
by punkofnice ini saw todays text(tm) and it was obvious bait and switch!.
it was banging on about listening to the holy spirit (a good thing if you believe in it), and then they used these sickifying words:.
''we do not need extensive formal education in order to comprehend deep spiritual truths that have been published.''.

The statement alone is condecending to their rank and file. Since no one understands what they say they make believe that the rank and file are stupid. Yes, definitely bait and switch.

Life is in the blood?
by sinis inhowever, at conception (life) blood is not present until much later as the fetus developes.
blood is an organ.
now if "life" starts without blood, then is life really in blood?.
-

@thetrueone... our thoughts were very similar and I am with you on the "blood flowing from sacrifices" theory. I was also thinking that since the ancient ones were so warfaring, during battle the first thing to flow from a human was blood after a strike from a foe, bloods flows, the warrior loses strength, collapses and maybe dies. Thus blood becomes sacred and becomes Mystical. Another poster thought me the mystical theory. If it was a "God" thing to make blood sacred, why not also the heart, liver, pancreas, things which humans could not live without? They had no knowledge of these body parts and their importance to continued living. Guess the light needed to get brighter.
