  i have been thinking a lot about how once someone is appointed in the in hall....such as a ms or elder...how many people always make such comments as: "well jehovah has appointed him so we have to deal with it" or "even jehovah uses wicked people in his organization"..how can people believe this??

  i do not understand how holy spirit can be apart of such beliefs.

  i know of a brother in our hall right now that has committed fornication, never telling anyone about it.

  so i'm out doing some shopping at the supermarket and as i'm walking to the checkout, i see my so and his wife (in full fs attire) talking to someone just past the checkout registers.

  i am looking for the furthest checkout at this point making sure not to be noticed by the so or his wife.

  well, just my freakin luck, there is only one checkout open.

  the watchtower, on rare occasions, pays lip service to the importance of good critical thinking skills.

  most born-in jws probably think they have decent "perceptive powers", i know i did.

  i got good grades in school.

I do not understand how holy spirit can be apart of such beliefs. I know of a brother in our hall right now that has committed fornication, never telling anyone about it. Yet less than a year later he was a pioneer and a year after that he was asked to be a MS.....I won't tell the elders on this person because I don't believe in that policy but I do wonder how they can believe that Jehovah is picking these people to help run the congregations?? I have a lot more to this story and will post my whole story soon for everyone to read but I just wanted to see what others thought about brothers being appointed....I heard someone say once that it is just a mens club.. hahaha

  has anyone else experienced something like this?.

  in my mother-in-law's congregation a special pioneer was recently moved to the congregation and he gave a talk where he said he and the other elders felt there was a bad spirit in the congregation and there must be something going on that is preventing jehovah's holy spirit from operating properly.

  but he didn't state explicity what the problem might be and now gossip is rife in the congregation about whether there might be a sinner or a traitor in their midst.. for many this is just the excuse they need to gossip and bad mouth others.

  WEIRD BECAUSE...In our cong. I know of a brother thathad comitted fornacation and never told....But he was appointed and a MS just a few months ago......Holy spirit???? I think not.

  assemblies; how times have changed

  my wife mentioned our circuit assembly was this weekend, she looked at me and i let out a chuckle and said "the kids are too sick right?

  " (they weren't) but it was what she wanted to hear, an excuse from me to blow it off.

  it got us thinking about how they were kind of tolerable when we were younger.. meals with ice cream, lots of volunteering to get you out of your seat.. there was more room at past assemblies.

  the watchtower channel is ebbing.

  one sister told me that the change in the number of meeting days from three days to two days is because of a shortage of funds needed to pay for utilities.

  in this economy and the waning of finances the kingdom hall attendees can look forward to meeting once a week in the future.. .

  What's going on at 100 Henry Street?

  id like to first clarify that i am not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination.

  however, i couldnt resist connecting the dots on some research ive been doing recently about watchtower spin-off corporations.

  one such corporation that caught my attention is located just a few blocks away from the wtbts headquarters in brooklyn, quite possibly in a back room at the st george hotel on 100 henry street.
