Celebrate with me today
by Esmeralda intoday, april 20th, is the fourth anniversary of a very special day in my life.. the anniversary of my rebirth.. this rebirth was not a religious experience, but it was something totally pure, amazing and healing.. it had nothing at all to do with the society, or rather, of freeing myself from it.
it was however, a giant first step in that direction.. today is the fourth anniversary of the day i got letter that changed everything.
the words on the pages were alive, and magical: they released me from my old life and for the first time.

Fencesitter, have some Preparation H handy...you may be up there for awhile :) It was my experience that I felt the pangs of "something is WRONG here" for several years before actually leaving, and when I did leave it was with an emotional outburst and a disassociation letter and a total cleaving of my relationships with all the JWs I knew. At the time I thought it was what I needed to do, to SEVER my name from theirs. I dont think I would have been that drastic had I the opportunity to do it all over again. I think walking would have been a better way to go. Then, people could choose pretty much if they wanted to continue their relationship with me or not...but my disassociating myself removed that possibility from both them and me you know?
On the other hand, I could NOT continue to pretend before God, that I was someone I was not...which I saw as a bald faced lie before God. He knew I was being a hypocrite, going to those meetings, smiling, answering PRETENDING, LYING...and frankly, if I wasnt there to please God then who was I trying to please? VOILA...the PEOPLE. And is that what God wants of us? To follow and cajole and please PEOPLE?
It got to the point where I would be physically sick starting every meeting day afternoon just in anticipation of having to go there again...to put on aires and be holy, and to be like PETER was when he was being two-faced with the Gentiles and the Jews. I was bad mouthing WORLDLY people, and wishing I was free like them, then bolstering and praising the Society, when I hated their control of the sheep...sitting there in Brooklyn with their empty eyes, and cold souls, controlling us like puppets, laughing at our helplessness, dangling our families before us if we didnt do obeisance.
I couldnt live with myself after years of this. I read Crisis of Conscience and it was THE EYE OPENER for me. It freed my soul. My husband is a JW, and my inlaws many were, and all my friends were JWs...but ultimately, it was between me and God. Yes I lost many, but the freedom from oppression was worth it.
If you have a girlfriend who is in the Org in ANY WAY, do NOT discuss how you feel with her! She WILL at some point narc on you. Married COUPLES are required by the Org to narc on each other...do NOT TRUST HER. If you ultimately leave quietly, and she follows you out, that is one thing. But if you leave and she continues in, your relationship with her will only bring pain and heartache. Be prepared to lose it all by leaving...or lose who you are kiddo by staying.
Perhaps it is of little comfort, but we will be here for you...MILLIONS NOW LIVING have escaped the Tower.

Watchtower-1, Lee Elder-0
by messenger inwell friends it came tonight at the thursday meeting, a new video "no blood medicine meets the challenge".
it has prepared case histories and testimony of several in the medical field show that no blood is good medicine.
it is to be distributed to newly interested ones and to those in the medical profession it has been especially prepared for the non-witness viewing public.

The Society is obviously still doing an end run around reality with this "video"...which is that they DO allow blood and dont want anybody to realize it and accuse them of being :::gasp:::: normal. They will go to these great, and Im sure, expensive lengths to prove themselves DIFFERENT and yet all one has to do is read their own literature to see that they DO ALLOW BLOOD, and that their stand is unbiblical and they KNOW it is. Why try to control the flow of this information if it is an ACCURATE portrayal of what they believe?? Obviously it isnt. Just like on their PR web site where they say that they do not shun those who "simply walk away from the organization" or that "disfellowshipping does not sever family ties" or that "only Jehovah knows" who will be in paradise, even tho they teach SPECIFICALLY that only THEY will. The list of people they say to give this to are NEW and wont have read the old literature, are QUESTIONING and dont have a clue what the true beliefs are, and wont be shown voluntarily and probably dont own any literature...and others who would be loyal to the Society and not question the content. If this is the TRUTH why not just give it to the press? If the Society's stand on blood is so clearly BIBLICAL why do they have to spend all this energy proving it? And what does how the blood FLOWS or what transfusions ARE have to do with Leviticus and Acts at all?
Watchtower 1, Lee Elder 0? I think not since the Watchtower runs and owns that particular scoreboard.
Just more Nazi propaganda for the Party.

Without a doubt! ;-)
by Focus in"it is not to be presumed that the prince of darkness will suffer the binding influences of the new prince, which are now at work to fetter his power without a struggle.
his rage will spend its force in distressing mankind in various ways, for he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
" 1884wtwr 03 01 07. well, that is as it may be, but we can now say without a doubt that this "short time" which the watchtower taught back in 1884 was nearly over is still 117 years later - taught by the watchtower to be in progress... "all know something of the failure of brother miller's expectations.

Hey Focus :) Whats new on the frontlines? Any gossip? Any new comatose GB members? My aforementioned ex friend the elder who wanted his hair back in the new system, SWORE that one of the causes of his hair loss (and without a doubt the heartbreak of psoriasis) had been his drinking from aluminum cans! When I used to live with he and his wife he would shrink back from them. He came into the Borg in the late 60s, I believe, I suppose while the war against Evil Aluminum was still raging. Perhaps aluminum causes acne and total stupidity as well :)

Was It Too Much For My Dub In The Pub?
by Englishman inevenin' all,.
i'm feeling a little disappointed with my jw pal, the dub in the pub.. we were having a good conversation over a few beers, and i actually got him to admit that he couldn't see the connection between the parable about the fds and the 144,000 any more than i could.. yes, yes, yes!
i thought, now we're talking!

Now now we dont want to be going and telling the sheep what the new release is do we? Thats the only thing besides the 45 minute drama :) Can you spell PATHETIC? The reason the Society keeps doing the OT is because the gospels are too straight up for them to sound REALLLLLY smart on...so they pick things that nobody in hell can understand and then everybody oooohs and aaaahs when they have the book study on that book about how marvelous it is that they have the DEEEP TRUTHS about the Bible from Jehovah. The Emperor's New Clothes.

The baptism is off.....
by TheApostleAK intold by the elders yesterday that since i'm a official at a sports match on saturdays and i won't quit doing it (they mention it occasionally to me at meetings), that they won't be allowing me to get baptised the next assembly coming up.
it might matter if i was working 5 days a week but at the moment i'm only working 2 days......(i've already racked up 50 hours this month).
i remember a talk a while back with the theme "what prevents you from getting baptised?

As for what is "better" out there religion wise...this is not a "closest to the pin" contest, or horseshoes, or a Consumers Report where one religion gets more solid or half dots than the next one by man made standards and is therefore the PREFERRED or RECOMMENDED religion to be close to God. Facts are facts. If a religion calls itself the TRUTH and can be shown quite clearly to NOT be truth, it is therefore lying about itself. And who is the father of the lie that we heard tell about so MANY bazillions of times from the platform? Jesus said "Keep on SEEKING, keep on KNOCKING" he didnt say "Hey when you get to Brooklyn Heights..you can stop."
And I believe that if YOU believed this was the TRUTH...youd be busting your BUTT to get baptised and giving up the officiating would be a no brainer decision. Obviously you still have reservations if you are more willing to stick to your own version of the "truth" and reject their requests to give up those worldly activities.
Has the Society asked the tennis champion Williams Sisters to give up THEIR sports? Do you want to belong to a religion who is both two faced AND lying to you?

Id say thats a MAJOR FLAG on that play, Mr. Official. Dont be stupid like I was and ignore it, and 13 years later be caught in hell, losing my family. I think Jehovah just saved you...dont argue with The Official.

I want my hair back!
by LovesDubs in...yep, the presiding overseer of our congregation when i was a mere study, said that when the new system is here, the first thing he wants jehovah to do is give him his hair back!
lol!
i thought, dang, is that the only reason you continue to do this garbage?

I thought, dang, is that the only reason you continue to do this garbage? For the outside chance that there really WILL be a paradise and you can assuage your vanity and get your male pattern baldness CURED??? It really made me stop and think about what people's motivations really were in this, Gods Organization. Whenever they would give a talk and say to us "envision yourself in that paradise" I never could do it. I used to figure I was just spiritually inept and undeserving of even THINKING about myself being there. Turns out my bullsh*t meter was redlining even then, but I wasnt tuned in to it yet. Did you guys buy into the Society's version of paradise? Did you mourn its loss? Frankly, since it will take 1000 years for any kind of "perfection" to occur...the thought of the first 500 years or so of "paradise" living with only JWs and under the direction of ELDERS...makes me wanna RUN and embrace the "world" they so hate. :)
