Its the Last Day of the Year...

its 1:23 am on december 31, 2008...and another year has slipped by.. happy new year my friends.

god speed those who have lost loved ones and those who are sick.

god help this country recover and god help our new president have the strength to contend with the mess he is left with.. god watch over our troops and their families here and bring them home soon.. god help us to recover from the devastation the watchtower society has wrought in our lives and on our souls and loved ones.. hugs, ld.

Christmas is gone....it always makes me so sad. :*(

this year because thanksgiving was so very late in november, people didnt have as much time to put up and keep up their lights as they usually do.

i know its only a week's difference...but it made a difference.

before we knew it it was christmas already and now the music has stopped and the lights are coming down...and the thing i hate to see the most.... christmas trees discarded and left at the curb for the garbage man.

our little party here is coming to a close and i am very sad about that.

i remember on my high school graduation day in june of 1972, we were all standing in the cafeteria getting our caps and gowns on and i looked around the room at all these people i had literally grown up with for 18 years and thought "this is the last time we are all going to be all together" and it made me cry.

i have come to depend on and love you guys so much.

boy..just when i thought things couldnt get weirder in my life...i spent a whole day designing a christmas newsletter with colorful pictures and stories about what my kids and family have been doing, and the election and you know...year end things and greetings, to send out.

i do this every year.

this year i had to file bankruptcy in august and decided to email the newsletter to save money.

last update: 12/02 11:26 pm (inergize digital media) australian men's magazine ralph has lost 130,000 inflatable breasts intended as a free gift for its january issue.

the publication's editor has urged anyone with information about the missing breasts, said to be worth $127,500 to contact the magazine.. .

Three hours in line just to get an absentee ballot!

wow lovesdubs... i walked in to the village hall and it was just me and another woman to get an absentee ballot.

took some time to fill out the paper work, but not bad.

though this town is small... i wanted to avoid the long lines and wait tomorrow..

What is your family's favorite Christmas tradition?

i was a methodist for the first 30 years of my life, a jw in the middle 13 and then from 1997 have returned to my christmas roots, albeit with a different perspective about what "religion" means to me.

but christmas is a big package which to me extends beyond the birth of jesus.

ive had to re-start, and invent new, traditions for my kids and i as we are alone down here in florida most christmases, and all our relatives who are down here are jws.
