they seem to have laid off their proofreaders.
in the new 03/2016 study watchtower there is a picture description:a mature young person does not act like a friend of god at the kingdom hall but a friend of the world at school.
the german issue saysein reifer junger mensch verhalt sich im konigreichssaal nicht wie ein freund jehovas und in der schule wie ein freund der welt.
processor is absolutely correct on this,
very weird article, you can read it here if you can tolerate such nonsense:.

basically teddy was a super, duper spiritual giant who went undercover behind the iron curtain, sorta james bond like.
I don't recall other bios of former GB wives written in the WT, although I could just have a foggy memory.

to all congregations .
re: adjustments in organizational terminology and assembly arrangements .
Finally terms make sense:
a circuit (or part of it) attends a circuit assembly with the circuit overseer present and alternating visits by the district overseer and a branch representative
a district convention was not always attended by the district overseer and never assembled exactly all the circuits forming a district visited by the same district overseer (with some exceptions in smaller countries perhaps), so speaking of regional conventions makes sense
a zone overseer never visited a zone but got a yearly appointment to visit a number of branches, so it is overdue to abandon the use of the terms "zone" and "zone overseer"
it seems branch visits by headquarter representatives will no longer include a special meeting for a selected few, but will be transmitted to all congregations in the branch territory, so the lacking day of the circuit assembly will be compensated for
and/or the agm may become a regular feature for all to attend...
so not surprising but quite reasonal decisions

requesting where can we find answers to lifes big questions?
So, now we know the first release at this year's district/international conventions:
T -36
As T-30, 31, 32, 33 and 34 were duly released at last year's conventions, later came T-35 (aka Kingdom News 38) and now T-37 has been announced to be released in June...
the missing tract will probably be shown at the conventions...
LL
have you heard what the "big announcement" is to be this week.
supposedly the bethel homes will get some announcement today and the congregations will announce the new something by the end of the week..
wow, jwn is late on this, the internet is already brimming with the newsannounced at Morning Worship today:
BSCC and BSSB united to Bible School for Kingdom Publishers allowing also single sisters to attend (up to 65 years)
LL
first 30 min announcing a collection of bibles collected from r & f that is to go on display at bethel.
also accounts of how they "miraculously" received bibles that they didn't think they could get - eg.
geneva bible.. now - watchtower study review as there is no meeting tomorrow..
I'm still waiting for David Splanes latest "Brothers, we love this teaching!"-explanation beforeAnthony Morris concludes this meeting.

i heard this from a "friend of a friend of a friend...." at least 3 or 4 intermediate steps before i heard it.. so it is likely distorted, but i'll throw it out there in case someone in or near sweden can clarify it.. .
i heard that the wts branch in sweden instructed all jws there to "get rid of" all (empahasized all) of their printed literature, and rely exclusively on the content of jw.org for their literature.. .
that's the entire extent of it - i also got a few speculations about "what it might mean" (the society is expecting persecution!
Tack dismissing servant
Do you have any information on the composition of the new Scandinavie Branch Committee?
LL
i'm trying to put together a comprehensive master list of watch tower society branch offices that corresponds roughly with the figure published in the worldwide report.. i feel it would be useful to monitor the number and location of existing branch offices, because i believe the distribution of branch offices worldwide is a good indicator of the society's financial wellbeing.
we now seem to be entering a period of branch office closures, with last year seeing an unprecendented 16% reduction in branch office numbers over the year before.
it will be interesting to see how things develop moving forward, but i'm hoping that by keeping a list of the offices we will be better placed to keep track of the "retreat" if branch office numbers continue to dwindle.. here we go.... .
the Czech Republic is served by the Slovakia branch and
Togo is served by the Benin branch
doesn't Puert Rico care for several Carribbean countries?
@TheOldHippie do you know the names of the Scandinavia Branch Committee members and who serves as the coordinator?

the wt study edition is getting a facelift for the new year.. the january issue had been posted on jw.org but.... the boes hadn't received notice by letter of such a change.. the wts likes to play up every opportunity to have a new release.. this time the jw.org techies jumped the gun and went on to post.
the issues for download according to their established schedule.. unfortunately, they went ahead of the fds/gb who too late .
realized the cat was out of the bag, sort of saying.. well, it got pulled off the website, for now at least.. what's so secretive about it?.
i guess that was an error who prompted the issues to be "on" last week; according to schedule the january, 15th issue shouldn't be posted earlier than this week.
anyway, the german issue seems to be translated from the simplified english edition for quite some years...
