In reality, you'll often find that "miracles" are nothing more than the predictable result of actually rolling up your sleeves and doing something
Ding ding ding, we have a winner!
when i believed in god i tried not to pray for anything selfish.. after a while i began to think that a lot of things i was asking my imaginary friend in the sky for were selfish for some reason.. i do not ever remember a single thing i prayed for ever being answered.
if there was the appearance of an answer it was because i did mental gymnastics to make it fit the delusion that god had actually answered me.
there was never an obvious message/answer from god.

What about guns and other weapons ?

When a poster has degraded to ad hominem attacks as their only recourse, I believe that speaks volumes- it says more than I ever could.
Agreed. I don't know is you ever read the Foundation series by Asimov, but one of the quotes from his books is "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent". I think we witness the mental version of that anytime someone starts throwing personal insults. Sad, really.
So, still no concrete examples of prayers being answered?

ADCMS:
James does nothing more than stir the pot with misinformation, self-refuting logic and generally taking a crap on any discussion. When he finally feels backed into a corner, he'll end it by tell you how he was in law enforcement, a guard at the sheriff's department, how that qualifies him for whatever he is claiming to be better at the moment and then insinuate how tough he is while calling you name and ignoring anything resembling reason and argument.
Basically, he's a seagull and an internet tough guy all rolled into one. Best to simply ignore him.

I was responding to Shirley saying that the account did not say that they DID have faith... because neither does the account say that they did not have faith.
ADCMS was 100% right. You are editorializing to say that because the text doesn't say they didn't have faith, they did. It also doesn't say Elvis wasn't there, that is no way means that he was.

it would seem as though the crowd also had faith that He would feed them. Does it say otherwise in the account?
When the gospels don't say what you want, claim it does because it doesn't.

We were speaking of Christ and the gospels, there, EP.
You were talking about miracles. My examples are valid.
What do you guys consider to be a concrete example of prayer?
God healing an amputee.
Have you noticed the world with Tammy's sort of god looks precisely like a world with no god.
Indeed. Quite curious, isn't it?

Then you must understand my confusion when you make a statement that faith was never a requirement for miracles... in contrast to what is actually written, that faith IS a requirement, and that without faith, no miracles.
Lot's wife turning into salt, the burning bush. Both miracle, no faith involved.
