Yeah, they are keeping the referred members who got NO notification they had been added. Elders can see faders, etc. They AREN'T FIXING THE PROBLEM. Security is compromised and it's not being fixed.

Major screwup out of the gate and nothing but justification on why they think it's OK to compromise others (while protecting themselves AND using that security breach to promote themselves).

Horrid. In the digital world we live in, this is such a major issue that it goes beyond comphrension on why they have YET to fix it.

They're not gonna get it right everytime, nobody does. But to act as if the whole venture is unworthy of consideration based on a naive mistake in the beginning is a real shame

They are STILL exposing the security of people and REFUSING to fix it. They haven't gotten it right the first time and willfull will not do it. It's moved WAY past naive mistake.

I can't understand why you are asking for mercy for someone who is, right now, willfully exposing and compromising the security of the very people they claim to help.

How about they get NOTHING until they fix the problem they created?

The matter has been corrected now and due apologies have been made.

It has not. They still have NOT removed the people that were auto-added. They STILL have not corrected that error.

Therefore how about cutting them some slack?

Not until they step up and fix the problem. It will literally take 5 minutes.

You never made a mistake that harmed others, apologised and corrected the mistake? Did you hope to be forgiven? I'm sure you have. I know I have.

Great idea. You should retract your emotive one-liner when you tried to bring my actions (of which you are 100% ignorant) into it then. I'll be happy to wait for you to fix that.

In any event, real people were harmed and there is potential for much more that they simply refuse to fix. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Going forward AAWA can do a great deal of long term good to those exiting the WT and to those contemplating joining. I suggest we focus on that rather than the errors made on the learning curve right at the beginning of their work.

Unless they actually DO learn from this error and get around to fixing it, all it will ever be is a millstone around their neck.

The issue is that they haven't YET fixed the problem. They are holding themselves to a different standard than they expect their volunteers get. They sulked, got mad, left and STILL haven't FIXED THE DAMN PROBLEM. No one is having a pop at them just to be a douche. They came here, promoted themselves, recruited from here, publicized themselves here and then proceeded directly to put people from here in harm's way. Even after admitting they didn't know what they were doing, they simply decided that not screwing up again was enough. They did the equivalent of acidentally slicing someone open from balls to brains and, rather than get a doctor, realized they weren't a ninja and said not doing that again "fixed" the problem. Then, when told, no, that wasn't cool, they got huffy and took off.

Remember this fact, none of the members or directors of AAWA are professionals, theyre all just concerned, well meaning men and women who want to pool their acquired skills and do some good. Yes a mistake was made but AAWA wasnt to blame for the crass stupidity of others who used their name to do harm. So why doesnt everybody get off their back and start being more positive?

Well, they did harm. Just wanting to do good doesn't mean you are. As I said, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. It's also a matter of fact that one of their approved volunteers did the harm and after the fact, it wasn't fixed, in fact, they took their ball and went home.

You know what? Im beginning to think that a few members on here are just full of hot air. They like to moan and groan about how terrible the Watchtower Society is and how it has damaged their lives blah blah blah, yet when an opportunity comes along to actually DO something in a practical way, they look for any excuse not to get involved.

People think all sorts of things. At least the people you THINK aren't doing something didn't expose hundreds of people and then refuse to fix it.

I like this. You say this, but in your OP you said I was wrong, angry, wouldn't put time into this, already had my mind made up and then tried to say what I believed.

Oh, and I DID watch the videos. The first argument in the first video is bunk. Just because God says it, then it becomes moral BUT he also gives the argument that Abraham successfully argues with God to be nicer? Wrong, you can't have your cake and eat it to. The arguments are a fail.

Next time, try to make your own argument without blindly insulting others.

they seem like a well-meaning group of people who want to publicize the idiocies of the wtbts.

Because they started with saying how awesome they were going to be, fell flat on their faces, compromised the security of hundreds of people andw handled the results with nothing short of trainwreck results, admitting incompetence, then presuming complete competence, refusing to answer questions, refusing to take steps to protect those that were compromised, etc.

i`ve spent the morning and part of my afternoon... getting to the bottom of... why names were added to the awaa fan page... it`s a dangerous thing to happen in our world... faders can be outed,we can lose,family,friends... the results can be an absolute disaster... .

aawa "did not" create the facebook awaa fan page.
