  what exactly is the reason?.

  i am not an athiest or agnostic... i definately believe in god.

  however i would honestly like to hear others explain to me why they believe the bible is truly the word of god.. .

  How about Genesis 15:13-16

  It doesn't say which nation, all evidence points to the account of Israelites being slaves of the Egyptians as descirbed in the Bible as NOT having happened. That prophecy doesn't give a LOT of specifics, such as what age he would die at, where, which nation would enslave them, how they would get free, etc.

  That, combined with the evidence pointing against something like that having happened and the complete lack of evidence for puts it in the category of "story" rather than "prophecy".

  The Daniel 9 prophecy indicates the time the Messiah would come. Verse 26 prophesies his untimely death.

  It doesn't specifically say anything about when Jesus would die. It gives no date, no star configuration, no name, doesn't define what "7 times" are, etc.

  Read through Isaiah 53, which is about the Messiah's rejection and atoning and sacrificial death.

  It doesn't specifically describe Jesus or even name him and, in fact, says several things that specifically do NOT describe Jesus, like having offspring or nations and kings being amazed at him.

  Can you name a prophecy that specifically says something will happen and that specific thing happens? Not something that can be interpreted to mean something, such as giving a meaning to the term "times" when the book itself doesn't do that, but something very specific already written?

  Daniel 9:25: "Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.

  What was specific in that and what came true?

  What specifically in Isaiah 53 was predicted and came true?

  My Ruger LC9 has a laser sight add-on integrated into the trigger guard. While I've never drawn it except at the range, I imagine being painted with a laser would have some psychological factors. Or having a 45 pointed at you. I really should get a laser on those also.

  That reminds me, I need to call Beretta for a part.

  How are huskies "closer" to the wolf bloodline?

  I have a 90 lb barely a year old Rottie pup. She's the sweetest thing ever. She recently slept in a tent with me during a thunderstorm on a camping trip. If she were so inclined, she could kill me in about 10 seconds, yet I can easily reach into her mouth to take out something she shouldn't have.

  Yes, it is. I have female friends I am not attracted to that are very dear to me. I've had sex with some of them in that past, depending on maturity level it either ended in disaster or we are still friends.

  i have seen debates and shizzle about god or not god etc etc.. i was even confronted by an aggressive and trheatening muslim in the street, who was angry that i wanted proof that god existed.

  he ranted on a load of old b0110cks about 'hell' and stuff.

  finally he yelled at me: 'do you want god to write your name in the sky?

  Ha ha ha, nice try. You claim to get revelation directly from Jesus that other people can't get. If you aren't better than anyone else, Jesus should either be talking to all of us or none of us. If you are the same and Jesus is talking to you but not other people that sincerely seek help, then HE sucks.

  Either you are better than the rest of us or Jesus is a dick. YOu claim it's neither, but that argument crumbles under logic my 10 year old son can produce.
