  entailing commercial visual hype that so apparent in popular music today.. this was of course pre music videos, the music had to stand on its own to create its own public appeal.. whats some of the music that you fondly remember all you baby boomers ?

  scholars lump these groups togather because they all.

  purport to not be interested in religion or spirituality.. but one observed notes; "sociolgist point out that there.

  are no truly "secular" societies..."nonreligious" people....are.

  while i am no fan of mother teresa after reading some of the revealed facts about her life and work - i thought this was just a little out of the realm of polite conversation (but was interesting):.

  That's what I'm saying . . . accepting Govt assistance was a mistake. WINZ constantly directs clients there for food parcels because they are funded, instead of granting vouchers themselves. They've become a dumping ground of convenience for the Govt. and are under-resourced for much of what they attempt to do . . . and have the added problem of Govt. interference. Many in the org regret the current situation, but they have been locked in. What you describe are the symptoms . . . not the cause. It's an otherwise good org that has been comprimised. Even those high up in the org get by on a pretty modest stipend. That said . . . without them the problems would be infinitely worse.

  That's the problem they have Still

  A low success rate is inevitable when people are forced into it by the courts. The Sallies are not that well funded by Govt. when you consider their size and workload.

  A huge number of Govt. facilities have shrunk or closed down completely . . . they've simply shovelled the problem on to someone else . . . volunteers who are not all fully qualified or trained. It's either the sallies or next stop . . . the corrections dept. They've been handed a dud because nobody else has the facilities or will to take it on. I've worked with many volunteers in that org who pour personal resources into helping unwilling, unthankful, complete strangers. None have ever tried to preach to me. I have nothing but respect for them.
