  Question about Bible Translations

  i've been looking for the past couple of days for a study bible with relatively un-biased commentary, and an accurate translation.

  i'd also like to get the strongs concordance...is this a good idea?.

  any opinions on bible translations you particularly like and why are appreciated.

  One of my favorites is the New American Standard. It also shows alternative renderings for certain words. Also if the study material is for research rather just reading, you might want to consider some CD-ROM versions that are typically cheaper and more powerful.

  Spender, did you say you were in the Lewisberry area? Is that near Harrisburg? I used to live not too far from there.

  i'm just curious...if you had the opportunity, who on this board would you like to meet if given the chance (or could without getting "in trouble"!)?

  (could be serious, could be fun...) i for one, am just sooo curious to meet the cat himself... just to find out if he's much different in person than in his online persona!

  ...and maybe pet him a few times in the process...

  i explored a few options as i was coming out of the organization.

  nominal christianity had no appeal except that it was without the policing and punishment of the jw's.

  there was no open discussion still and i didn't agree with most of it.

  I was told numerous times, "Marry only in the lord [= JW's]. It will just cause problems down the road for you and them if you don't. Your faith could be wrecked." I was never taught to see it any other way.

  i received a call from chris yesterday.

  Lilacs, We're not all selfish. Don't give up hope yet!

  This kind of tactic reminds you of the WTS though. They abuse you and still you stay. But try to leave and watch out.
