  is anyone a pantheist ?.

  in my search for the meaning of life, it has been only a month or two since i've actually become agnostic.

  my reason for the final rejection of christianity was that i could not believe a god of love, justice and wisdom would create a world that along with life/pleasure would also foster death/suffering for seemingly infinite numbers of innocent and not-so-innocent beings.

  In my search for the meaning of life, it has been only a month or two since I've actually become agnostic. My reason for the final rejection of Christianity was that I could not believe a God of love, justice and wisdom would create a world that along with life/pleasure would also foster death/suffering for seemingly infinite numbers of innocent and not-so-innocent beings. But hey, survival of the fittest is just life, baby.

  Well, it was about a year ago that I started considering other possibilities. There is a religion called pantheism which is defined rather vaguely, but nevertheless has strong explanatory power. Some Christians might fall into the religion of pantheism, as well as some agnostics. Even certain atheists seem to believe in pantheism.

  Well, if anyone has thoughts on this, I would welcome them.

  during my senior year of high school, things began to look hopeful again.

  my grades were soaring, i would be graduating soon and i had a decent job to pay for my own place.

  I went through some of the same kinds of things. My parents joined when I very young and many of my teenage years were spent being depressed. I faced a great deal of emotional stress when I dated a "worldly" and felt like I was being pulled in two directions - my affections for her and my affections for what I thought God wanted. I am grateful that my parents were not completely fanatical like others I knew. Thanks - it's just nice to hear other people's experiences.

  my eight year old daughter asked a very interesting and thought provoking question the other day and i thought i would ask it here.

  she asked "if you were allowed to do something bad, what would it be?

  " interestingly enough, both her and my son and me all picked the same thing, which was stealing.

  LB - Oh, you mean it disqualifies me if I wanted to be a victim?

  Actually a close female friend confided one time that she thought it was fun to fantasize about, but that she would be terrified if it actually happened.

  Shimmer I can honestly understand the desire to murder someone. But to have a desire to rape someone? That's pretty sick I'd say.

  Given the choice? Hmmm... let me think here... yep, I'd rather be raped.

  do any of you remember an awake once entitled " pornography why resist it?.

  well i placed no end of those magazines.

  even getting a few sniggers from the householders.. my "ministry partner" pointed out, that perhaps i was putting the wrong message across, that my emphasis was in the wrong place.. when i read the title page.. i would say "pornography why resist it?

  Nothing personal since I didn't get out much. But some of my friends like to start off their time with a nearby return visit and then go for brunch the rest of the morning.

  Hi Shimmer. Interesting question at least.

  If I could do something naughty I guess I would tie up Prisca and kidnap her. I would take her away to Aruba for an afternoon of ocean sailing and margaritas on the beach. And following: a quiet evening of dining and dancing under the moonlight as Caribbean music plays in the distance. (Sigh...) Okay, then I'd take her back home, untie her and run.

  No windows on Kingdom Halls?

  i just read a post on another site i belong to (non-jw related) where a person asked if anyone knew why jws do not have windows on their kingdom halls.

  a few other people responded saying that they had noticed the same thing, that they thought it was b/c the jws believe that windows are just an adornment, hence a distraction?.

  in my 20+ years of being a jw and attending quick builds, i never noticed this ... it never even dawned on me ... and now that i try to think back, i can't remember there being any windows at the khs i attended?.

  Vandalism, distraction, cost? It was probably all these things. Not sure of the priority.

  My original hall had high windows and it was an older hall. Interestingly, another hall I went to was forced to put in windows. It had none when built, but it was in a well-to-do area and neighbors complained about its appearance. They added fake ones with 0% tinting. Seemed kind of lame and for the longest time when I first went there I always wondered how to get to the area where the windows were!

  How to deal widh druggs

  all over the word this is a bigg problem today, we who hade children hade a bigg problem here i think, can you tell some of your expirienses, so many of you are angry on jw, but this is nothing if we copere whats happend widh young man and woman today, i myself have 2 sons who tell me that it is not dangerus, i am to old they say, i , waiting for your comments.. some say it is okey in dutch, and that mariujana is going to bee okey to,in several other countrys in europe.

  I couldn't really understand your post completely. Marijuana is a relatively benign drug though and probably ranks along side alcohol in terms of harm. It won't cause a lethal overdose like alcohol. It can be habit-forming, but has very low physical addiction -- far less than alcohol. I believe in harm reduction though so I will tell people who smoke pot: buy a vaporizer or bake brownies. I see no sense in inhaling smoke into your lungs.

  I can prove that God does not exist.

  just thinking.... i can believe that a higher intelligence entity (hie) cannot be proven.

  i am willing to accept that a hie cannot even be definitively induced, even for marvels that we cannot demonstrate at this time (e.g.

  natural transformation of elements into living material).
