  How do you react when you happen upon the name jehovah

  whenever i here that name, maybe in conversation with someone who doesnt know my past, i feel anger welling up instantly inside me.. if there were a jw in sight, i think i could give him a jolly good shaking.. just hearing that name does things to me.. jesus = love.

  jehovah = hate, selfishness, divisiveness, and domineering manipulation.. so much for jdubs "honoring " his name.

  he's sure got a bad reputation based on how they live their lives..

  well i'm sorry i've been absent, it's been a rough few weeks and still having to work....i ended up having a nice happy surprise by having the day off, so i'm finally going to get caught up on things.. .

  april 1st was my 6 months of not reporting service time and i am officially inactive now.

  i think my hubby and i are going to celebrate!

  i wonder whether any of you took note of the article in the 12/15 study edition wt "the simplified watchtower .. why introduced" i couldn't believe they actually had the temerity to put such tripe into print and onto the record.. i was flat-out astonished with its put-down of vocabulary building and self-improvement:.

  one egregious example: " the time spent looking up words and explaining expressions (ostensibly from the "smart people's" watchtower) is now spent gaining an understanding of the scriptures and how they fit into the lesson.".

  one jw cited in the article actually blames her college education for causing her to fall into the bad habit of "speaking and thinking a way that was more complicated than necessary.

  Distrust and paranoia among faders

  hi guys.

  i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.

  i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.

  Asher Allen - MN Vikings

  asher allen, a defensive back who has played three seasons for the vikings and who just turned 24 years old, has abruptly retired.. vikings coach leslie frazier told reporters today that allen informed the team last week that he decided to call it quits.

  frazier described himself as very surprised by allens decision, and its impossible not to be surprised: nfl players just dont walk away from the game, by choice, at the age of 24.. .

  allen retired because he recently became one of jehovahs witnesses.
