  doesnt sound like patrticipation sounds like advertising. the other JW's were prob there to witness after and get some names and adresses.

  This kind of thinking drives me nuts!!

  the last sentence in paragraph 14, chapter 4 in the new book being studied, " worship the only true god.".

  "our faith will be evident from the conviction with which we tell others about this magnificent gift from god.".

  it seems to me that a better thought would be, "our faith will be evident from the way we live our life and the way we treat our fellow man.".

  filling in the time, sheets counting up the hours .what away to declare your faith

  felt like being at school again .

  did you ever tell any non JW that you filled in a time sheet evrry time you spoke to them ?.

  i kept mine hidden. i was to embarresed to tell ppl .that when ever i mentioned jehovah to them i scribbled down 10 minutes on my time sheet. i began to see ppl as minutes on a time sheet.was like trying to score points with god.

  but then doing good deeds became to be like a propaganda exercise. i knew i was only encouraged to do them by WT articles so i could mention jehovah or helping someone out had to be with the purpose of witnessing so they would join the society .in the end i felt like i was being dishonest about the reason i was helping..

  now i do somthing cause i feel moved to help :) not because ive got an alterior motive

  things that make you go AGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!

  kingdom melodies did it for me everytime.. i tired so hard not to have uncharitable thoughts about the ppl who wrote the tunes and words to the kingdom melodies.

  there were about 2 that i could stomach.. the rest were so totally uninspiring and mechanical.. .i can say that apart from maybe 2 i didnt get any up lifting joy from them.. elders complained that ppl wern't learning the tunes and singing properly.they got realy irritated over it .but i really really hate the dam songs .

  eveyone sounded totally joyless

  Older ones here, what do you remember being told about 1975 ???

  i was just a little kid when the 1975 thing came about, didn't pay much attention to it, after it was over, my parents told me it was just some people being over anxious, and being about 8 at the time i believed it, now when you research you find some amazing articles.

  what do you remember being told about 1975 as the year got closer ?

  waiting hey

  it feels like getting over a very long illness .you know how a fever feels ..fever everything seems oddly sharp and real and your so happy and content but when the fever breaks you you head starts to buzz you feel weird and suddenly all the feverish joy is just a memory

  the latest watchtower, dec 15th 2003, is an out and out attack on the rank and file for dropping into a drowsy state spiritually.

  ok, so armageddon didn't come before the generation of 1914 grew old and died.

  mum started studying with the JW's in 1967 the sister told her that the end was coming in 1975 and that they were expecting to be martyers(sp?) its scared the life out of mum and had the reverse effect hoped for she stopped studying then of course the end didnt come..she didnt tell me about this till after i studied .....but by then i was already beliveing what i was told and told mum she had got it wrong

  yeah but frannie wasnt it moses who personally took a sword to the children left over after some isrealite attack? (remeber the bit where the women of another tribe were leading the isrealite men astry and moses harponed one bloke throught the privates then killed the rest of the tribe) some of the children were spared and moses got angry and killed them himself.

  moses known as gods friend..how can ya even like the man

  moses gods right hand man..the bible doesnt say how upset jehovah was when he did this..nope he was carrying out devine instruction.

  i was always told that they were not kids they were PROBABLY up to 30 years old.
