All of which got us all in trouble with the elders. I remember all of them sitting down with me in my dad's house. It was uncomfortable, but later it was funny. I still laugh about the things we did.

i have heard quite a bit about the july 15th watchtower magazine on this sie.

so i went and downloaded it and read several of the articles.. page 16 paragraph 6 states : "well, apostates are mentally diseased,and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings".

how horrible, they seem to know sooo much about menal health !.

Hello Everyone! Heres my story!

i'm new here, and although i have been a lurker for several months now, its nice to finally dive in and join you all.

i hope that i find some friends as thats what i'm really looking for, i've seen enough proof that theres real love outside of this religious prison that i've biult for myself over the years, but i would like to feel it firsthand.

it's been a little hard to post anything since it's not easy being around in websites like these when you're still in and theres other jw's around sticking their noses everywhere, but now that i've found the time, i would like to share a bit about my story.... this is an email i sent paul grundy, (creator of jwfacts.com) and it basically sums up the story of my life... so i thought it would be good if you all had a read as well.

Hey Oneday,

I feel for you man. I know EXACTLY where you're coming from. I was born into this religion and stuck in it until I moved away from my parents. Just like you, I worked mostly on the sound dept. I also worked on literature and passing the mics. I had to work on parts and go out on service. My dad as well is an elder, so just like you, I had to do all this for him. If I stopped going to the meetings, my dad would lose his status as elder. It was up to me to make sure that didn't happen. I didn't want to be responsible for that, so....I played the part of a good boy. It wasn't until last year when I finally got married to another witness who was also playing her part just like me, and moved out. Now my wife and I are out together and my dad can keep his fancy elder status no matter what I do.

You can have a serious talk with your dad and say pretty much everything you've said here on this board. Maybe they'll cut you some slack and let you step down as pioneer and privileges, but I'm sure some drama will unfold along with rumors and gossip throught the cong. I would advice you to move out on your own (preferably far away) first before you leave. It won't affect your dad's elder position. If you move far, you can give the excuse of changing congregations. This is the perfect time to fade. That's what I did, and although there is some drama, it's not as bad as if I would've done it when I was living with my parents.

We'll all be here for you so don't be afraid to ask us questions or ask for advice. Feel free to PM any of us too.

i keep telling him that if he gets baptized, it should be coming from his heart and love for jehovah, not his love for some girl.

Ok so my friend is an un-baptized JW who is in love with a baptized JW. He's going through all the drama of being in love with a JW. I keep telling him that if he gets baptized, it should be coming from his heart and love for Jehovah, not his love for some girl. He says there's no way he would get baptized for some girl, but recently he is attending a bunch of meetings and the elders are up his ass about getting baptized. The elders have been raising all kinds of hell cause he is not baptized and she is. It's like "get baptized or else you can't be with her".

I fear, that despise what my friend says and despise what I tell him, he is going to become a mind controlled zombie. She's infecting my best friend I've had for 10 years with this religion. Religious people cram their beliefs down your throat and up your ass. I don't want to be like that. I believe he is going down a bad path that will ultimately hurt him severely. Once youre baptized you're at a point of no return and it's impossible to get out unAs his best friend, I feel I should warn him, but like I said, I don't want to shove my beliefs up his ass.

The tables have turned

i remember when i was the one on the doorstep knocking on a house full of different noises when suddenly the house goes into a dead silence and the curtains move a bit.

we always whispered to each other "i know they're home, i heard them" and "let's see if they answer the door to jehovah on his day of wrekoning".....which makes no sense, but whatever.. today early in the afternoon my wife and i found ourselves on the other side of the door when we heard a knock from jws we know.

i paused the movie we were watching and made my way to the peep hole.

we are kinda leaning towards telling them that we went to the memorial in another congo closer to where we live but the problem with that is that my dad is an elder in our former congo so all he needs to do is make a phone call (at my mothers urging) and confirm if we were there or not. My wife's family is really active in our former congo as well (all of them are pioneering now) and she and I have been getting our phones blown up by all of the members in our family which makes us wonder if our little unnanounced visit today was aranged by any or all of them. We might end up saying we went to another hall as we deem it the most plausible excuse.

Lol @ Satanus. If we were indeed "preoccupied" at that moment, I am sure we wouldnt have been as quiet as we were when they knocked.. but thanks for the suggestion, dude.

It was actually pretty funny when we came to the realization that the tables had turned. Since today is the memorial thingy, we knew the main reason they were here. They're not here for an invitation, instead they're here confirmation that we're going and and to press us if we say no. They know our cars are out in the parking lot, so currently I'm working on a cover story. Telling them the truth about how we feel isn't so easy right now mostly cause of my mother. She's pretty old and isn't in the best health right now so I don't know what a broken heart will do to her. Any ideas?

Apostasy vs. Heresy

the july 15, 2011 issue of the watchtower and its hard line on "shunning" of the disfellowshipped has generated much discussion on this board.

i thought i would start a thread on a related issue because i would appreciate getting your thoughts on this.. we all know how liberally the wts uses its favorite curse word, apostate, to describe those who have left the organization.

That brings up another question: Was Charles Russel an apostate or a heretic?

Charles Russel used to be affiliated with the Adventist and had a totally different belief. He believed in trinity and all. But then he became an apostate when he "abandoned his religious faith" (according to the definition), and then became a heretic when he adopted "a n opinion or a doctrine at variance with his established religious beliefs" (according to the definition). Now he suddenly doesn't believe in the trinity and adopted his own beliefs contrary to his original belief and print them on magazines to spread the word on how Adventists are wrong and he is right.

If a JW comes up with his own beliefs contrary to Jw's beliefs and goes on to print magazines and spreads it throughout the world as "truth", you can bet that JW will be labled an apostate/heretic spreading apostate/heretic literature and organizing an apostate/heretic religion known as _______. (whatever)

So.... that means the Jehovah's Witnesses are rooted on apostasy/heresy. An evil apostate/heretic started this religion and the JWs are one big blasphemous group of apostates/heretics.
