Ok fair enough. I'm fairly new to this site too. People like fallen_princess and myself will be able to tell the difference between a troll and a joker soon enough.

Fallen_princess Vs. Shamu lol!...that means "laughing out loud" for those of you who don't know.
I'm gonna copy/paste the conversation to show where it all went wrong: (ahem)
Is this the beginning of another JWN great gay holocaust? - shamu
wait! I wanna know if this is to be mean at the LGBT community too! what Are you talking about Shamus? I am bisexual and I dont know if I like that idea :( - fallen_princess
Speak in english and perhaps I can understand you and type out a response. ;) - shamu
Ok, let's review here. This is the exact point where it starts spinning out of control. Instead of saying "What do you mean by LGBT princess? I'm sorry I'm not familiar with acronyms. Thanks"....he says "speak english". That is rude and if anyone needs to apologize it's the monkey. That "speak english" remark was recieved as a rude comment by fallen_princess and so she calls him a "troll". At this point, the monkey is pissed and decides to go on a tantrum about how she should speak english (even though LGBT is an acronym for an english term) and decides to mock her by assuming she must be one of those blonde dumb 15 year olds and sarcastically making "like" impersonations of her. On top of that, shamu along with some other people on here, assume that her comments are not valid cause she is a "newbie". As a newbie, she has no idea what the hell a gay holocaust is, and you people on here decide she is not worthy of knowing because of her "newbieness" (is that a word?...who cares)
In conclusion, she is just a curious woman who wants to know what the gay holocaust is and if it's a bad thing or a good thing. But she is asking a few arrogant fickle people who believe they don't have to answer to "newbies". Thanks for the explanation though, ohiocowboy. That's what shamu should've said in the beginning instead of bringing up the whole "speak english" comment. Anyway, that's my two cents.

LGBT means "lesbian, gays, bisexuals, and transexuals". Everybody knows that. (Except for shamus) Look it up in a dictionary. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/LGBT There you go.
It's an accepted acronym to describe the community and its been around for a long time. Guess you were too proud to ask shamus.

My public talk on sunday
by mankkeli ini am currently preparing for the public talk on sunday and as i was looking through the outline some these thoughts just keep popping up my mind that in the face of several allegations and numerous scandal, wbts has not stopped claiming to be god's organisation, i am wondering if they will ever realise that their strategies are no longer appealing to the general public.
regrettably, they keep on publishing and printing using victims of mind control hazards to the detriment of over 7 million rank and file members and spiritual illiterates in the society.
i keep on pondering on how long this malicious activity would continue.

Try to slip some apostate opinions in your talk. Then you can watch the elders squirm uncomfortably in their seats. Man it would be awesome if they ended up dragging you off the stage as you scream out blasphemies against the WT.

My Apostate wife is out on service
by fade_away inas i write this, my wife who left the borg along with me is out on service with an old jw friend.
her friend is visiting town and she didn't know we stopped going to the meetings when she called my wife and asked her out on a door to door service.
my wife explained to her our current situation, but still decided to go out with her just this one time.

Seriously rebel, all she did was tag along with her friend. She didn't get on a mega phone and a billboard like some doomsday nut job. She didn't even hand any literature out. Comparing 1950s preaching to modern day service is not fair. Back then it was still new and the fact they put on a parade on the street caught a lot of attention and recruited a lot of people. Nowadays, a simple invitation by a JW is thought of as "just another religious pamphlet" and usually ends up in the trash. Today most Jws are born-ins and few are "recruited". As mentioned before, statistics show how unsuccessful door to door is today. JWs kinda blend in with other "pamphlet" religions, so a lousy two final hours on service with a friend won't kill anyone.

Everyone knows we haven't been attending, but they see us as "sick and in need of help". They wouldn't stop inviting us on service, in fact they will probably ask us to go even more now that we are "sick". As for how much her friend knows of our innactivity, I say just the fact that we aren't attending cause of certain doubts. That's all she knows. She doesn't know what doubts exactly, unless my wife is telling her right now as we speak. As for my congregation getting suspicious, I guess time will tell. This is all happening tonight, so I guess we can't know for sure how everyone will react yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks everyone will find out she went on service and we'll just have to wait and see how they react.
" Will your wife be speaking or taking turns presenting literature? How can she promote the witnesses' message in from of her friend and the householder if she hasn't been to meetings and has her doubts? Apart from feeling she owes her friend something, what does she hope to accomplish by going door to door?"
Well steve, she can answer that better than I. I can have her PM you the answers in the next 3 hours or so. Keep checking your PMs. She will answer under my user name "fade_away".
I can't follow your comment that your wife would be setting an example by accompanying her friend.
I apologize for anyone that can't see that. It's the way I see it. Wether it's going on service or just hanging out at the mall, she decided to catch up with this old friend and show her she won't stop being her friend despite the differences.
If householders have any thoughts at all about religious door knockers, they probably wouldn't care at all about what was going on in the minds of the door knockers (e.g., that one of them has doubts about the religion.)
They wouldn't care. I just said it's funny (to me) to think about that situation. I never said wether they care or not. Damn steve, the Watchtower isn't the only thing you question huh? Lol, I guess the GB makes us skeptical about everything we hear.

As I write this, my wife who left the borg along with me is out on service with an old JW friend. Her friend is visiting town and she didn't know we stopped going to the meetings when she called my wife and asked her out on a door to door service. My wife explained to her our current situation, but still decided to go out with her just this one time. Her friend has done so much for my wife in the past that my wife felt going on service with her and catching up would be the least she could do in return. Her friend has had a few doubts in her past but has quickly "recovered" and she is now a hardcore JW going on service at full throttle; even constantly moving to foreign countries where "the need is greater".
Well right now, my wife is joining her out of gratitude for being a good friend. It's funny to think of the people opening the door to what they think is just another witness, when in fact she is an apostate undercover. My wife means well though. She wants to show this girl the humble attitude and love she still has for her friends despite the fact she doesn't agree on their doctrines. Maybe my wife can set an example for all JWs out there who wouldn't do the same. The ones who refuse to hang out just cause we don't agree with them. My wife is actually showing that she may have her doubts, but she doesn't shun her friends cause of it.

The latest Oct. Watchtower has an article that seems to be controversial amongst us "apostates." It's a long complicated article with tons of confusing names and dates, but in the end it sums it up and says:
"To sum up: The Bible clearly states that there was an exile of 70 years. There is strong evidence—and most scholars agree—that the Jewish exiles were back in their homeland by 537 B.C.E. Counting back from that year would place Jerusalem’s destruction in 607 B.C.E. Though the classical historians and the canon of Ptolemy disagree with this date, valid questions can be raised about the accuracy of their writings. Really, those two lines of evidence hardly provide enough proof to overturn the Bible’s chronology."
My question is: Is there any way to debunk their "strong evidence" of Jewish exiles being back in their homeland by 537 B.C.E? According to JWs the Jewish were to be in exile for 70 years, so by saying they were back home in 537, they say the destruction of Jerusalem and the beginning of their exile had to be in 607 B.C.E. So what proves they were home in 537? And is there any evidence against that claim?
I want to know cause if I ever bring this up in conversation with my hardcore JW family, all they'll do is throw the Oct. 2011 issue in my face and say "shut up and read that".

Yet, most of Jesus’
disciples were ordinary people, without
higher education, and they readily grasped
what he taught.—Acts 4:13."Wow! No higher education? We are SO much like the disciples and first century christians! We MUST be the one true religion and God's chosen people. How blessed we are to have such a privilege!" - Typical Dub

The Village is amongst the worst I've ever seen. I know everyone will hate me for saying that, but it nearly put me to sleep in theatres. Especially the fact that everyone whispers throught that whole movie.
