women make up the majorty of witnesses.
they cannot be suppressed without their acquiescene.
It's no picnic being groomed and expected from boyhood to be the leader...to be an example...to stand alone on the stage...have all the answers...conduct the meetings...be the strong one ...the protector....the decisoin maker...the bread winner etc especially when all of those things are the last thing you want to be. Many a Man would love nothing more that to throw it all aside sit back and criticize with the ladies while someone else takes the drivers seat.
Lets face it....no one gets out of this religion or even life without being crammed into some kind of mold or forced to be someone other than their natural authentic selves. A lot of women want men to be strong , ambitious, high wage earners and leaders and yet often resent men for the influence and power they gain by being thrust into those roles.
P.S. Men were created with tenderness and parental instincts as well. Women haven't corned the market on all that is good in the human race. Although we adore them individually on the whole there is a tendency for some women to blame men for their problems and for men not to come to their own defense when needed.

My father left "the TrUtH" when I was 15 and I constantly got a slap on the back by elders telling me, in front of my mother, that now I have to be a "good boy" and become the "spiritual guide" for the family and set an example......it was too much weight for a teenager that was confused and barely knew where left and right is. Later on it was my wife. Constant "privilege seeking"-modus really weighted down on my health and persona.
She went sour on me the day I walked to the Branch Committee and gave up my Bethelite Status, Bethel Elder and all the other "shiny theocratic medals"......THAT day marked the beginning of the end of our relationship!

Sorry guys for my overall "pissed off"-graphical description of those times......but some events and memories as a JW really upset me, and make me angry. I surely hope that this will also go away.....

I used to teach at that school, too. Now, thinking back I can't understand how I managed to go through that shit without shooting myself.
We had to stay with brave, exemplary local JW-lunatics. One of these morons gave me and a smelly ministerial servant the SAME BED - it was their marriage bed. It was very, very, very awkward to sleep with another man in the same room AND IN THE SAME F...... BED!!! But it was late and we where tired, so brother "smartass-ministerial-servant" slept on the edge of the right side and I slept on the outer, outer edge of the left side...could get sleep, had to give a talk and breakfast was non-existant.
THANKS MORONS for ruining a perfect week, that I took off and my boss took off my salary. Thanks a lot!!!

I went the other day to a shopping mall where lots of "wanted-to-be-my-brothers-and-sisters-but-where-just-fakes" hang around - WITH my hot date. One of the elders wifes saw me and I looked at her with a smug smile. She looked - not so much with the dirty looks - but the cold killer looks.

with many of us here on jwn in a fading state trying to stay halfway connected to jw relatives - i thought it would be informative and helpful to know what the wt society is telling jehovah's witnesses about who or who should not be their close friends.
so if you experience even more shunning than normal - this article may be influencing some jw's to do this.
you won't find any new information here- but the wt society is definitely trying to control who witnesses hang out with.. in the article " is your recreation beneficial " ?
dontplaceliterature: I observed this phenomenon with my, soon-to-be-former-wife and my sisters (all eagerly pioneering). They would become all friendly and warm to somebody - AS LONG AS THEY CONTINUED TO STUDY! - they would go out of their way helping these Bible studies finding jobs, moving homes, etc.
As soon as they stopped studying, they would drop them like dead horses with the black plague! Some of these people would call my ex-wife back and ask why she stopped coming to their house.....really embarrassing.
Because of policies like this I have lost good, good friends. F&%$ the WT$ and their cultish rules!!!

trying to work with jw's and their cd i notice that the harder i push their beliefs the more likely they are to hit back with some werid version of jw belives that exsists only in their own head.. its almost like they listen to the bs from the platform, run it through their head and then process it through their own filter and end up with a bastardised version of "the truth" that they feel comfortable with.. .

Yes, definitely that describes my personal experience with different Witnesses. Before I DA'ed myself (58 days ago) I "announced" my decision, beforehand to different family members and the "inner circle of friends". Just to prepare them for D-Day ....they tried to "convince" me to stay in with all kinds of arguments, amongst them (the more I explained what I don't believe anymore, the harder they tried to sell me the "Soft-Version" of the cult):
- "NOOOOO, we are allowed to go to University.....no fault with that. The Society NEVER said you can't...."
- "You can THINK whatever you like....just don't express it publicly. Most important thing is you love Jehober."
- "Videogames.....Movies?.....You can watch them ALL! ...Just don't tell"
- "We know the GB is sometimes wrong.....BUT, BUT the main thing is: this is J's Org....don't mind anything else."
