I,ve seen it all before- It starts with wheat toast, but it seldom ends there. Pretty soon you've got your pumpernickle and a few exotic ryes followed by luncheon meats (and I,m not talk'n balogna here, folks, I'm talk'n pastromi) Well, one thing leads to another; property values go down and pretty soon , there goes the whole damn board. Talk about your white(bread) flight!

Neon,
I believe the charity was called World Hunger League or something similar. He founded it and it still carries on today. His spirit still lives!

GLBT Pride Parade Surprise
by Fire Dragon inwell folks, my first glbt pride parade was a blast!
my hands are sore from all the clapping and my voice is hoarse from all the cheering.
i clapped so much that i bent my silver celtic ring on my left hand...ouch!!

Hey Brian,
Don't know if this helps but, The Village People are playing at our county fair this month. It's not a parade but it's better than listening to a DJ at a wedding!
Brian (not Gay but often times quite jovial)

Plum,
I think the title of the Kilmer movie you were referring to was"Thunderheart" or something heart (not my buddy Mel's film Braveheart) but it also starred Sam Sheppard And Graham Green (I loved Green in that film)

From Intercourse to Paradise...
by NeonMadman in...with stops along the way in bird-in-hand and lancaster.. that's right.
today, i, my wife and my mother-in-law loaded ourselves into the car and drove down to pennsylvania dutch country, where we visited the towns of intercourse, paradise, and the others i mentioned.
we went to the mennonite information center, where we heard a lecture about the israelite tabernacle in the wilderness, enhanced by viewing an actual size model of the tabernacle.

Neon,
Damn, I was so hoping that wasn't Chapin because I am never going to get it. It reminds me of Corie's Coming meets WOLD with no railway station or DJ,s
Yep that,s Zappa, but now you,ve got me wondering about the correct title.
BTW: I once went to a Chapin show at a very small , intimate theatre where he was about 45 minutes late. The driver didn't know how to get to our small town from Chicago after they got off the plane. He came running in with snow still on his coat and guitar in it's case. He tuned his guitar as he apologised and went on to play 2 hours and 45 minutes without a break. People were waiting to get in for the second show which He launched right into as soon as we left. What a guy!, I sure miss him.

Boy, Neon
No.2 sounds so much like the lyric structure of Harry Chapin but, I don't think it's him, yet it sounds so familiar.
Since I can't figure anything out I think I'll post a few: (all lyrics are approximate)
(1) Nobody gonna take my car, I,m gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna take my car, it,s gonna break the speed of sound
Oooooh, It's a kill'n machine, it's got everything.......
(2) I come from the land of the ice and snow
Where the midnight breeze and the hot winds blow....
(3) Now that you have heard these words telling you now, of my state
I tell you to enjoy life, I wish I could but I'm too late...
(4) Watch out where the huskies go...(Yea, This is gonna stump ya!)
(5) Take me across the water
I got no place to hide
I done the ranchers daughter
And I sure did hurt his pride
(6) And where the hell was Biggles, when you needed him last Saturday...

Westerns
by WildTurkey in.
what is your favorite western movie?
mine are, tombstone, val kilmer was great in it, lonesome dove, and the wild bunch.
-
Mac
Westerns, why didn't nobody tell me you were talk'n 'bout westerns?
Here's my top 10: (like it matters, and not in order)
Ballad Of Cable Hogue ( a sweet, lyrical Peckinpah film, unlike that nasty Wild Bunch, which is also fantastic) Great performances by Jason Robards and Stella Stevens (Ooooh La La!)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (The Duke and James Stewart at their best!)
Red River
Stage Coach (not the remakes)
Rio Bravo (Dean Martin at his best!)
Shane (How could you not have mentioned this classic?)
Cat Ballou (Ya gotta love Lee Marvin, or at least his horse!)
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Bite the Bullet
Tombstone (Kilmer's performance is one that all previous and future portrayals of Doc Holiday shall be measured against) I feel bad for Dennis Quaid, he did a great job!

comf,
I used to feel alot like you about the "mowing down" of Earth's last jungles. Propaganda comes from many fronts.

slingblade
by musky indid anyone watch slingblade on tv last night?
i thought billy bob thornton was supposed to be a good actor, but what a crap movie!
3 hours wasted time.

Mac
Musky,
If I were you I would point out the way I spelled "due" in my post above and beat me repeatedly over the head with it untill I said "I,m sorry." I no longer pride myself on my spelling due to the fact that I can no longer spell! (and it gets worse every year)
I will not edit that post, I shall bask in my shame.
