  The UN and the Watchtower Society

  considering the simple fact that the watchtower society has declared the united nations an organization lead by satan, it certainly devote a lot of attention to what the un do and say.

  the watchtower definitively said: the whole tendency of the league of nations is to turn the people away from god and from christ, and it is therefore a desolating thing, the product of satan, and an abomination in the sight of god.

  Objection by an elder

  i approached one of the elders with some of my doubts..... i mildly pointed to the fact that the wtbs had been errent in it's prediction of 1975 as well as some of the other "new light" issues.. his response was one which i have heard many times before: "the society is made up of imperfect men.

  interestingly, in 99% of cases most witnesses will accept this explanation and feel guilty for questining a their fellowman ( the humaistic side of the organisation is unconscioulsy impressed onto the mid of the questioner).

  at least that is how it has worked on me - until recently.. the next time i am fed this line of reasoning i would like to ask the following question: "ok brother elder, i accept that they are not perfect.

  I do agree with the logical and true comment of Simon:

  1* It's the stock answer people use to excuse any manner of wrongdoing.

  2* they won't accept the flip-side that it means we shouldn't believe or accept everything that is said as it is from 'imperfect men'...

  and finally the…wrapper: (most of them )…" are a bunch of hypocrites like the pharisees.."

  many others in the process of leaving need to read some of these books to get things straight in their own minds.. many better men than i have gone to a great deal of time, trouble and expense to put some of the society's older publications online - you simply need to search for them and save them to your hard drive.. i've put some of the more important works all together on one page.. you will find:.

  the watchtower society's bible reference book "insight on the scriptures" volume 2 states on page 971:love of god and of neighbour is a principal means for avoiding sin, which is lawlessness, for love is an outstanding quality of god; he made love the foundation of his law to israel.

  (matt 22:37-40; rom 13:8-11) in this way christians can be, not alienated from god, but in joyful union with him and his son.. (emphasis added).

  so witnesses are conditioned to believe that the wicked (those alienated from god)really sin.

  are those who have left god's organization and jehovah god himself actually now more open-minded and unbiased?

  if those who espouse atheistic thoughts or those who believe every vile utterance spoken against jehovah's people think they are now speaking from some olympian perspective, i beg to differ.

  Most influential branch offices?

  which are the most influential branch offices of jehovah's witnesses around the world?.

  for some time i have been wondering whether there are tendencies toward either greater liberalism or greater conservatism among various branch committees, and whether any of this could have an impact on brooklyn's policies.. here are my guesses in order (although i can't claim any insider knowledge):.

  1) united states (they've just set up their own branch committee, although presumably it will be in lockstep with...well, either the governing body or the legal department?).

  As our zone overseer from Brooklyn (McCanty) expressed it in his talk in Sydney "it's ruled from the top down".
