considering the simple fact that the watchtower society has declared the united nations an organization lead by satan, it certainly devote a lot of attention to what the un do and say.
*** w99 5/1 15 "let the reader use discernment" ***.
the watchtower definitively said: the whole tendency of the league of nations is to turn the people away from god and from christ, and it is therefore a desolating thing, the product of satan, and an abomination in the sight of god.

i approached one of the elders with some of my doubts..... i mildly pointed to the fact that the wtbs had been errent in it's prediction of 1975 as well as some of the other "new light" issues.. his response was one which i have heard many times before: "the society is made up of imperfect men.
interestingly, in 99% of cases most witnesses will accept this explanation and feel guilty for questining a their fellowman ( the humaistic side of the organisation is unconscioulsy impressed onto the mid of the questioner).
at least that is how it has worked on me - until recently.. the next time i am fed this line of reasoning i would like to ask the following question: "ok brother elder, i accept that they are not perfect.
Hello everyone,
CNN77, a very interesting point!
What you have written happens many times
and almost in every congregation.
I do agree with the logical and true comment of Simon:
1* It's the stock answer people use to excuse any manner of wrongdoing.
2* they won't accept the flip-side that it means we shouldn't believe or accept everything that is said as it is from 'imperfect men'...
and finally the…wrapper: (most of them )…" are a bunch of hypocrites like the pharisees.."

helloooooo.
this board has been almost deserted for the last week.
the chat has hardly anyone in it, if anyone at all.
Hello Ladybug,
Quite a sharp comment, and
you're right. As for me …I had a little break!

P.S. What about the next August??
(Holiday-time ???)
do you think that part of the awake is another made up version, like the question from readers?
or do you think "real" people send in those "oh, this helped me to be so blah blah blah" experiences for real?.
in the manner of richard dawson...... survey says:.
Hello everyone ,
A nice question, but it was soon buried
in a "strange debate and exchange" between Zev and Somebody.
As I've already stated in an other post, I do not believe that these letters are all genuine,
In the sense that they are "…revised .."

many, having left the watchtower, never want to read one of their publications again!.
many others in the process of leaving need to read some of these books to get things straight in their own minds.. many better men than i have gone to a great deal of time, trouble and expense to put some of the society's older publications online - you simply need to search for them and save them to your hard drive.. i've put some of the more important works all together on one page.. you will find:.
[1] russells six volume work - studies in the scriptures.. [2] russells 'posthumous work' - the finished mystery.. [3] tabernacle shadows of the 'better sacrifices' (pdf).
Hello Nicolau,
thanks for the "added" opportunity.
Nice piece of work!

just watching a show with gerald flurry on it and i thought his talk was appropriate.
it was regarding the prophecies of jeremiah re: rejection of ancient israel.. question i asked myself "could jehovah ever reject modern day spiritual israel?".
jeremiah 31:37. hosea 9:15-17 (all their badness was in bethel...)(princes = elders)(ephraim = governing body, fds, the borg).. from theapostleak
Hello everyone,

taken from our kingdom ministry, june 2001. .
basic requirements for bethel service.
- requirements for bethel service.
Hello everyone,
Thanks for the post and comments.
In my opinion the …light was given
in the reply from: BLONDIE
and particularly the last quote:
*** km 4/71 4 Question Box *** What are the qualifications for Bethel service?
1. First of all, it is necessary that the individual have a deep love for Jehovah, his Word and his organization, as well as a strong desire to serve his Christian brothers around the world.
2. Applicants agree to serve at Bethel for at least four years and work hard.
3. single brothers between 17 and 35 years of age.
4. Those who apply must be dedicated and baptized for at least a year.
5. Brothers invited to Bethel are usually chosen from applicants who are regular or special pioneers and who have received a minister’s (IV-D) draft classification, or one exempting them from call. "
Btw, Blondie don't worry at some comments, your post did what was
Required: provide an accurate answer! Thanks again,

the watchtower society's bible reference book "insight on the scriptures" volume 2 states on page 971:love of god and of neighbour is a principal means for avoiding sin, which is lawlessness, for love is an outstanding quality of god; he made love the foundation of his law to israel.
(matt 22:37-40; rom 13:8-11) in this way christians can be, not alienated from god, but in joyful union with him and his son.. (emphasis added).
so witnesses are conditioned to believe that the wicked (those alienated from god)really sin.
Hello Ozziepost,
A good one, thanks for the quote.
In mho, I do believe that one of our
sin is …when we want to judge our
imperfect brothers and sisters forgetting,
as you mentioned, that we too are sinners.
Thanks, and greetings,
J.C.Mac HISLOPP
does freedom of thought really obtain in this forum?
are those who have left god's organization and jehovah god himself actually now more open-minded and unbiased?
if those who espouse atheistic thoughts or those who believe every vile utterance spoken against jehovah's people think they are now speaking from some olympian perspective, i beg to differ.
Hello Dunsscot,
I hope you don't mind but the way you phrase youself….for any average thinking
christian is more like a philosopher and not so easy to understand.
"The so-called "changes" in the WT used to bother me until I learned about Hegel's dialectical triad. The movement and unfolding of Absolute Spirit throughout human history regulates in an ontological and epistemological manner. Hegel's delineation of Spirit also sheds light on the cognitive workings of finite agents who share in the outworking of Spirit. Dialectically, thought develops by affirmation, negation, and then by negating the negation. Such epistemic movement might SEEM contradictory and maybe in a sense it is. But this dialectical triad need not be construed as false in any moment or erroneous in an absolute sense."
Are youy trying to impress someone…as far it concerns me, I do prefer the CLEAR message from Christ Jesus.
Btw, others, including Ozzipost, Sixof nine and Iarc gave you quite a nice answers.
Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp.
which are the most influential branch offices of jehovah's witnesses around the world?.
for some time i have been wondering whether there are tendencies toward either greater liberalism or greater conservatism among various branch committees, and whether any of this could have an impact on brooklyn's policies.. here are my guesses in order (although i can't claim any insider knowledge):.
1) united states (they've just set up their own branch committee, although presumably it will be in lockstep with...well, either the governing body or the legal department?).
Hello everyone
To Ozziepost:
"Branches do not influence the GB (or more aptly, the BORG) since they, the branches, are directed from Brooklyn and Patterson.
As our zone overseer from Brooklyn (McCanty) expressed it in his talk in Sydney "it's ruled from the top down".
EXCELLENT answer, btw it is the TRUTH!
And " from the top down "…a PYRAMIDAL STRUCTURE!!!
