jehovah's witnesses say that they have the truth and the truth is constant.
they believe that what they teach is the truth that comes directly from jehovah god.
can you think of anything that has changed in the last 20 years to show a jehovah's witness that the truth is not necessarily the truth..

if i received a dollar for every time an elder had told me to read and meditate on this scripture over the years, i would be really wealthy.
maybe when i was a kid, scriptures like this made me feel a little bit better, but once i had learned ttatt and also lost my faith in god, or at least the borganization's version of god, scriptures like phil 4 versus 6+7 do nothing for me, but they are always, always quoted in public talks about depression, or during shepherding visits..
Hello Nikl,
Thanks for your excellent references. A great and truthfull tool,
based only on God's word.

(P.S. Sorry for the different font.
blondie’s comments you will not hear at the march 5, 2017 wt study (january 2017) (trust jah).
excellent general website: www.jwfacts.com .
bible translations www.biblegateway.com/cgi-bin/bible .
Hello Blondie and all the others
as usual exellent comments. King David and his life has been always been a problem
for me . Was his life a good example? I do not belive it at all.
Concerning the woman caught in adultery (John 7:53-8:1-11) I would like to add do like that wee have all been "caught" in our sins. By the same token the apostle James said that if you break one commandment, you've broken them all (James 2:10).
That places all of us, men and women alike, on the same moral level. We have all sinned. If all Christians would have eyes to see this truth, we would humbly eliminate all self-righteousness from our hearts.
In short, we are all made of clay; we all have the propensity to sin. With one devastating statement Jesus Christ demonstrated that the Law wasn't wrong, but if everyone saw the Law for what it was, we would understand that we are all guilty. Including the self-anointed, puritanical, moral “ guardians of the faith” at that time known as the scribes and Pharisees, today called “the Society’s Governing Body members ... and all elders those who follow in their footsteps, in the so-called “Judicial committees”!
Thanks again for all your time and efforts, which I do appreciate greatly,
All the best to ou all,
J.C. MacHislopp

Hello smiddy and all the others ,tings
here below the search that you have requested.
From:the book :
Jehovah’s Witnesses—Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom
(1993 edition)
*** jv chap. 8 p. 105 Declaring the Good News Without Letup (1942-1975) ***
The answer came in 1968 with the release of a new Bible study aid, The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life. This 192-page pocket-size book was prepared with newly interested ones in mind. It contained 22 absorbing chapters dealing with such subjects as “Why It Is Wise to Examine Your Religion,” “Why We Grow Old and Die,” “Where Are the Dead?” “Why Has God Permitted Wickedness Until Our Day?” “How to Identify the True Religion,” and “Building a Happy Family Life.” The Truth book was designed to encourage the Bible student to reason on the material being considered and to apply it in his own life.
This new publication was to be used in connection with a six-month Bible study program. The September 1968 issue of the Kingdom Ministry explained how the new program would work: “It would be good to try to study a whole chapter of the ‘Truth’ book each week, though this may not be possible with all householders or with all the chapters in the book. . . . If, at the end of six months of intensive study and conscientious efforts to get them to meetings, they are not yet associating with the congregation, then it may be best to use your time to study with someone else who really wants to learn the truth and make progress. Make it your goal to present the good news on Bible studies in such a way that interested ones will act within six months!”
And act they did! In a short period of time, the six-month Bible study program had astounding success. For the three service years beginning September 1, 1968, and ending August 31, 1971, a total of 434,906 persons were baptized—more than double the number baptized during the previous three service years! Coming as it did at a time when there was a feeling of expectancy and urgency among Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Truth book and the six-month Bible study campaign greatly aided in speeding up the disciple-making work.—Matt. 28:19, 20.

Greetings,,
JC MacHislopp
i'm taking a class, and we are learning about jws.
my teacher is talking about a "big brown book" that is used for any questions or scriptures quoted by the person who jws are talking to.
he used it in the context that if they don't know the answer off the top of their head, they look for the verse in this book.. what is the name of this book?.
Hello QAPMan,
sparky 1 gave the right picure of the cover page. It was printed in 1973 (only 200.000
copies ). Has 1274 pages . Btw quite useful when you don't remember all
verse but only a word . It will give you all the places where that " specific " word appears.
Greeting to all
CH MacHislopp
about this time last year i uploaded a document as part of my going away post.. as stated at the time i had to lie low, and am still doing so.
sort of.
mostly.i pop up rarely to chip in when my 'ardour comes up into my nose' about something lol, but still read the leaks and back-and-forth between the members here.
Hello Splash and everyone on this forum,
what an excellent and very useful compilation you’ve made. Of course it has gone already into my data base for future refence and use.
Actually I’m working on the informations provided by the w February 2017 :
THE WATCHTOWER, Study edition February 2017
page 26 par. 12
Q. 2. Since the Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible, what questions arise?
“WHO REALLY IS THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE?”
12 The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, theWatch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870.
Taking their words ,I have checked all the refences given in *** dx30-85 Beliefs Clarified *** and *** dx86-16 Beliefs Clarified ***.
To make very short , pause fo a moment only , the refernces given by the Society’s Governing Body for the “clarified beliefs” listed in the Watch Tower Publications Index for last 16 years i.e. from January 1st 2000 until December 31st 2016.
All the refences –amount to an unbelievable total of 163 pages defining the Society’s Governing Body “explanations”, “adjustements”, “refined understanding”, “changed viewpoint “ , “clarifications “ “ for a total of 59 subjects “clarified beliefs”.-
I’m working on the rest of the references.
Greetings to all of you and thanks, thanks again to you Splash for using your precious time and dedication to provide this forum with your compilation.! .

i was going over some of the older posts of others and without starting some kind of flame war, i got no idea why people are saying that the society is some kind of real estate business.
of course its making millions of dollars in its real estate sales but this a one time event.
its down sizing by selling the furniture.
