What is Faith?
by Mackin inwhen i was a 'dub, i beleived that faith was the hebrews 11 thing, but since i have put aside that way of thinking and no longer believe god or believe the bible to be anything more than a collection of human history and philosophy, i tend to think in terms of faith being no more than the dictionary definition: .
1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions.
2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to god (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust.

From Webster:
1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : LOYALTY b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions
2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust
3 : something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefsI go with 1a: allegiance to duty or a person : LOYALTY and b(1): fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions
What are the opinions of others in here?

Or you could be like the people of Samoa and name your kids after important events in your life or places you like or even products your like the sound of.
For example, I used to know a guy who was named after the theme of the 'dub convention that was held the year he was born: His name was "Divine Victory" (he called himself Victor). And I heard of another kid who was named "Ajax", after a popular brand of bathroom cleaning powder at the time.
Hey, at leat no-one would accuse you of being "too black, or "too white" if your kid was named "Panasonic" or "Nokia" or "Hewlett Packard" would they.
(Any Samoan's reading this: No offense intended.)
Edited for spelling (again).
Red wine & good spelling just don't go together do they. :-)

JW's the best looking people ever?
by terafera ina sister that studied with me once told me that if you look in the halls, you will see some of the most best looking people on earth.
she said that sisters are far prettier than worldly people because they keep themselves so 'pure' and brothers were much manlier because they knew how to 'protect women and take the lead'.
i dont know about that!

Oh my god, now I know I'm NEVER going to post my pic. All those people look much better than me.
Hey Beck, how's it going?
-
Mackin
Hey there Yerusalim,
You need to place these pic's on a web server. At the moment they are on your hard drive, so you can see 'em but no-one else can.
I would love to see pic's of your family.
Spelling particularly bad tonight.

A sincere (believe me) question for current JWs
by bonovox inok, noticed a few jw posters on here, jamesg et al.... what has the wtbs said about the tragedies in the us last fall?
i recall after lockerbie in the 80s there was an awake on terrorism (with the guys in ski masks lol), but what about the most recent events?.
trolls please resist the urge to rant that they all had a big celebration afterwards, ok?

We do not see the world as it is, we see the world as we are.
