Plum & Lilacs,
You will have the greatest time in the land of Oz if you decide to go. I have just returned from a week in Sydney visiting Prisca, Hippikon, Stephanus & family and others. Hippikon & Mrs Hippikon were superb hosts.
Then followed a week in Melbourne where I was kindly accommodated by Beck & family. They went to great lengths to show me all the sights of their fine city. Thanks to Andy I now know more abour bridges that I ever did before. It was also great to meet Refiners & Pappusan.
And yes make sure you are well rested before you go 'cos you won't get to bed before 2.00 am any night, Beck will keep you up talking 'till the wee small hours. Melbourne is a very picturesque city and the shopping is great.
I had an ab fab holiday and met some wonderful people.
dub memories part 4
at the end of the last part, my parents had just arrived back from the tuesday night meeting after the theocratic ministry school with the elders.
its quite amazing that i still remember the names of all the various meetings so clearly, considering that im writing this 4 years after my disassociation.
At the end of the day, love is all that matters.
SYN, you are so right my friend. This is so true.

later on this month there will be an amazing event happening right in front of brooklyn's bethel, the headquarters of the book publishing company formerly known as a religion, the watchtower bible & tract society.
dozens, if not hundreds, of silentlambs and other interested and angry parties will be participating in this march.
the official spin on the issue straight from the top) :victims and their parents are free to go to the police.victims and their parents will not be sanctioned for going to the police.reports of molestions will be reported in states where it is required!there are fewer molestation cases on record than bill bowen and barb anderson claim.the "child protection policy" of the watchtower is "bible based (tm)", i.e.
Grits,

I think it's very possible that the GB will stay in Patterson and send a laywer down to Brooklyn with "permission to look out the window" When I visited there in '98 Patterson was about a 2 hr drive upstate from NYC.

My theory is that the Governing Body are going to stand and look out of the window, laugh, and carry on eating their doughnuts! I will be mortally surprised if one of the GB Members actually leaves the building to speak to the survivors of abuse
The sad thing is that the GB won't even be able to look out the window if the march is in Brooklyn. IIRC, the GB all hang out in Patterson. Some of their henchmen will be there to see it though. And all the Bethelites.
I can just imagine what the "Morning Worship" announcements will be about that day. "Brothers, we do not want anybody looking out the window today"

it seems someone is not happy that i've put the kingdom ministry up on my site:.
http://jsefton.users1.50megs.com/kmscans.htm, and is sending me viruses.
not only that, they seem to be sending the virus out with my email address as the return address (i got one that seems to have bounced - unless that was just a clever ruse to get me to open the attachment).
This behaviour is most likely an e-mail "spoofing" worm like Klez virus or one of its variants and not realted to posting on this board at all.
From the Symantec website: www.sarc.com
This worm often uses a technique known as "spoofing." When it performs its email routine. it can use a randomly chosen address that it finds on an infected computer as the "From:" address, numerous cases have been reported in which users of uninfected computers received complaints that they sent an infected message to someone else.
For example, Linda Anderson is using a computer that is infected with W32.Klez.H@mm. Linda is not using a antivirus program or does not have current virus definitions. When W32.Klez.H@mm performs its emailing routine, it finds the email address of Harold Logan. It inserts Harold's email address into the "From:" portion of an infected message that it then sends to Janet Bishop. Janet then contacts Harold and complains that he sent her an infected message, but when Harold scans his computer, Norton AntiVirus does not find anything--as would be expected--because his computer is not infected.

boulder-size meteor almost struck australia-media .

I'm beginning to get worried.
Next week I'm travelling on an airline that regularly has bits of the wings fall off their planes (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storydisplay.cfm?storyID=2397089&thesection=news&thesubsection=general) to a country that's getting pelted by meteorites.
I think I'll stay home hiding under the bed.

let's call him "brotherx" - an elder who either has heard from the circuit overseer "by word of mouth" or has come to the conclusion himself about why jehovah's witnesses are determined to reach every person on the planet with .
"the message of hope.
" i'll try to paraphrase some of his comments.. brotherx explained to me and others in the congregation that we "work our territories to essentially decide who lives and dies at armageddon.
Derrick:
You misread my post. I didn't say JWs believe they personally are deciding who lives and who dies on the basis of their preaching work. That's a subtle difference you misread into my post. What I said, perhaps written to a JW or ex-JW audience who can read between the lines,...
So you did make it up then it seems.
...is that JWs believe they are being used by Christ to decide who is a sheeplike or goatlike one with obvious consequences
In all my years as an pioneer, elder & bethelite, I never believed ot taught anyone else to believe this. JW's do not believe they are being used by Christ to decide who is a "sheep" and who is a "goat", they do believe they are being used by Christ to take the "good news" to people and then they leave it up to Christ to decide who is a "sheep" and who is a "goat." Maybe that's just a technical difference to you but the more "spiritual" dub's wont see it that way.
Maybe because it hasn't been put so bluntly. Do you think Noah and his family built that Ark all by their lonesomes? Did not barter society exist that enabled them to walk through a market and "shop" for food, clothing, and whatever else was available to a society roughly a millennium "de-evolved" from Adamic perfection?
Actually the whole story of Noah and the global flood is fiction, so I don't think anyone built any Ark. The WTS however has never to my best recollection ever stated that hired help was used. I will stand corrected if you can back up your claims however. The average dub is not encouraged to think about the Noah story too deeply, if they do they'll see it's all a fake.
My whole point is that you are refuting the dub's with your own conjecture. Dub's are nit pickers to the highest degree, they will pick the eyes out of your story and then feed it back to their congregations as evidence of "apostate lies." You run the risk of undoing much the hard work of those who are endevouring to use the WTS own published information to help the rank & file congregation members to see the error of WTS teachng.
"Brother X, who thinks he heard this from a CO, or maybe it was word of mouth or maybe he just came to the conclusion himself" just doesn't cut the mustard in my book.

I do not believe this post to be true.
JW's do not beleive that they are deciding who lives and who dies on the basis of their preaching work. And all this stuff about Noah using hired help to buld the Ark is new to me too. In fact as JT said, they believe the separating work is to be done only by Jesus.
I do not want in any way to defend the dub's, I hate the WTS and its teachings, but I feel that if you're going to attack them then it should be done so factually, not with the personal opinion of a quite possibly fictional brother X in what may well be a made up story.
