Well, you are an F-ing idiot if you think the pedo issue being covered on a single Dateline show is going to make any drastic impact on the Borg. Yes, it will help, but it's like one punch in a 12 round boxing match.

My point in this thread is now that the pedo issue is moving along on its own, it would only be smart to begin another strategy, so after the pedo issue cools, there is something else on the burner.

You obviously aren't smart enough to understand that the 2 issues can be worked at the same time.

I just reread Tallyman's exchanges on page 1 and the first half of page 2, and then Farkel's answer midway down on page 2. I would find it hard to believe if someone now says that Farkel wasn't saying that they discussed the pedo media blitz back last summer. If the excuse is that Farkel was referring to something different from Bowen's resignation, then where is that "something" now.

I initially simply asked a question in which I thought that I was just mixed up on the dates. However, it now appears that I have stumbled onto something that has this bunch irritated. The only reason I can think that such would irritate anyone is that something underhanded is going on. If that is the situation, you people are as bad as the jerks you are fighting.

Evidently, you can take the people out of the JWs but you can't take the JWs out of them.

This whole mess today reminds me of when I first started discussing the 607/1914 issue with some of the local elders.

If someone has a answer for me that is reasonable, and will allow me to ask followup questions, I'm more than happy to listen to such. However, I don't want to hear crap from jerks like Tina, MommieDark, Maximus, or anyone else who want to stick me with labels.

How could Farkel tell Tallyman about this whole SilentLambs thing back last summer when Bowen was then still a loyal JDub (PO no less), since he didn't resign and start this whole thing until January of this year?

Am I mixing up the chronology? Years wrong?

I find your remark insulting for all xjws who either failed to get a higher education because of the Borg's teachings, or those like myself who gave up careers due to such.

By the way, one of my relatives attends a cong where there is a JW window washer who's business has grown to the point that he is known to be a millionaire.

I'm no attorney, but I have spent some time surfing around the net the past couple days trying to bring myself up to speed on this issue of "clergy confidentiality".
I would like everyone to know that my comments regarding this issue on other threads is from my "male practicality" viewpoint, which is totally separate from my idealistic side which would love to see the WTS and other church organizations nailed over this pedo issue.

So,... it is probably more accurate to say that "some" US states reporting laws have abrogated the "clergy privilege". The reason only "some", and not "most", states have included this provision is because when legislatures pass laws they generally always look at the constitutionality of such to make sure that the law will not be nullified later by the courts for being "unconstitutional". That's the most plausible reason that "most" states did not include a provision abrogating the clergy privilege.

Why did "some" states include it if it is unconstitutional? Because of the emotionality of the issue involving abused children. Those legislators did not want to face an election opponent who would say that the othet guy did ot fuly support measures to prevent child abuse.

I have not been able to locate any court case which has reviewed the constitutionality of these laws yet, but it will definitely happen soon. My best guess is that the federal courts will declare the parts abrogating clergy prvilege unconstitutional.

Good comments, but don't let the small monetary judgment detract from the overall effect, including the more important psychological effect to the R&F.

First, they would face the trauma of being arrested for criminal trespass, and then face the trama and legal expenses of the criminal trial. As soon as that's over, then they face the trauma and legal expenses of the civil lawsuit. This little "jewel" has the potential to wreak havoc in the JW ranks!
