I agree with you all. Make new friends, educate yourself about the org., start over. That's what I did, and life has been much better for me and my family.

Good morning everyone. Well, just as our family was finally all out of the org., getting back to being the family we once were, one of my family members recently went back in. I won't give many details that will give away my identity. But it sucks, really bad. This family member didn't just casually go back to appease the spouse who is using the child as a pawn to return. Nooooo, this person went full out jw. Shunning my other df'd family members again, my df'd parent, oh yeah and shunning me too and I'm not even df'd or da'd. I mean if you have to go back in to save your family, It's your life. But to cut us off because your spouse (and "friends" in th cong. we grew up in) feels we are all "bad association" and pressure you to stop communicating with us because we don't believe the bs anymore is silly. As much as it stings, I'm not surprised they went back. They told me they were struggling with everyone's perception of them since they stopped attending meetings. I guess in the end they weren't strong enough to make that leap. I'm more surprised how they just were able to shun us again and when called out on it, say that Satan was using us to persecute them. Really?!! Smh....
Anyway, I know coming out of the org is hard and some do end up going back like they never left. That's the reality.

From yesterday WT, don't have kids and if you do then don't see them often nor the grandkids either
by purrpurr inunbelievable paragraph in yesterday's watchtower was "encouraging" the sheep to not have kids.
most of their growth comes from the born ins and they are still on about not having kids?.
then it went on to "encourage" those that do have kids or grandkids not to spend to much time with them and instead to spend their time serving kingdom interests!.

Detroit TV station expose' on JWs
by Emma inhere's a link to a brief but good, four-minute piece on jehovah's witnesses.
wdiv in detroit filmed it.
there's a place for comments so please add helpful info.

Thanks for sharing Emma. I feel for them both. The young man whose wife left him especially hit home for me. My brother's wife just recently left him to remain in the organization and he's left trying to pick up the pieces and start over. So sick and twisted that org. is!! π

The last video in the 2016 convention...
by problemaddict 2 in...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.
bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.
he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

Was it just me, or did I see a dude with a full blown beard in that "new world" video??? And what's with the "bible times" clothing? π€π€ straight delusional cult stuff

Newspaper article on Conventionsβwhy so glowing?
by Londo111 inevery year in dozens of cities where conventions are being held, newspapers typically write an article about the event.
there are exceptions, but usually it is like the articles above.
i would love to see more newspaper articles that did some actual objective reporting, rather than puff pieces.

My opinion echoes the sentiment of Wu- Tang Clan "cash rules everything around me, C.R.E.A.M get the money, dolla dolla bills y'all" ππ
seriously tho, financial gain is a big part of the positivity in the articles. Hosting these jw conventions brings in a good amount of money to the cities it's held in. So I don't think they care about what goes on inside.

Baptized niece crowned prom queen. Could her dad loose his MS appt?
by StarTrekAngel inso my niece (not thru my brother but rather my wife) had been talking about going to her prom.
the family had privately been somewhat doubtful that she would be allowed to go.
the problem was that they kept promising she would be allowed but history has shown us that her parents tend to get her excited about things and then drop the denial on her at the last minute.

I also am not familiar with how Hispanic congs. operate. I was not really one for the dances/proms, but when I was coming up - I lived up north, a couple hours from Bethel -there was a couple of my friends in my congregation who planned to go to the prom together. The had their dresses ready, their limo, very excited. Well...word got back to the elders and literally 1 week before the prom they had a local needs talk on the evils of proms and why parents shouldn't allow their kids to go. So their moms felt guilty and took back their permission and they were not allowed to go. I felt so bad for them.
