  I would recommend if you are going to break it off with him to NEVER EVER get hooked up with a man that has children from a "previously enjoyed family." There's something called "guilt parenting" nowadays. Totally contrary to what JWs are brought up with. It's where children of divorce are pitied to the point that they are given "adult spousal status" and call the shots in the home. Parents just whimper and do as Junior says. Such children are used to ruling the roost and are never told "no" by daddykins and mommykins. Throw in a jealous/vindictive ex-wife and you have yourself hell on earth. The children will try to drive a wedge in if you so much as dare to suggest normal boundaries/structure (i.e. bedtimes, nutritious non junk food meals, etc)

  Can We Please Stop Referring To The Simplified English Watchtower A The Dumbed Down Version

  i really shouldn't have to say any of this but as someone who is in the process of learning a second language, i can tell that simple language makes things a lot clearer when you are not familiar with the language.

  everyone on here started out reading simplified english while they were learning, including you native speakers.

  i'm sure no one here was reading on a college level in elementary school.

  I'm particularly pissed b/c:

  1. It kept me from going to college where I would have been so much farther ahead career-wise (who knew that I wasn't going to be a homemaker with a husband to support me and my two children and I was instead a single parent with no child support)

  2. It is now causing me to get ensnared with the same type of domineering, abusive worldly men is that is all I know from living in the Borg!!

  things i thought about during the memorial talk last night:.

  i don't know if it was just the memorial i went to or if this was across the board, but it seems that the talk was dumbed down a bit more than it had been in the past.

  not that it wouldn't surprise me if was dumbed down.

  I remember how the ancient elder club would sermonize during the "blessing" prayer. It would go on for so long I could feel my nose hairs growing in. And I"m a CHICK!! UGH! Haven't gone to one of those since 2003. . .my LAST one!!
