New WT and Higher Education...Beware of the logical fallacy in the first sentence.
by maninthemiddle inbeware of the logical fallacy in the first sentence, not to mention all the loaded language.. .
wt 2011-11-15. .
11 vigilant christians refrain from using the world to the full with regard to higher education.. many people in this world consider higher education an indispensable stepping-stone to prestige and an affluent.

What has the WT$ TAKEN from you?
by VampireDCLXV inif you've been around here long enough, you will have seen people saying how they "gave up" or "sacrificed" certain things so that they could be good little jws.
what about those of us who were growing up in it and we didn't even have a choice in the matter?
what about those of us from whom some things in life were forcibly ripped away, things that 'normal' people take for granted in their life?.

The oppourtinity to get to be with the girl that was my best friend and I fell in love with... All this stuff with my family and that I am barely able to do anything with my friends really messed that up. Its so complicated.... It shouldn't have gone the way it did but thanks to my crazy JW parents it did...

DC Sunday Drama
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inlet's call it a very ugly version of "joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat" recreated as a musicless "a young life serving god ain't worth living.".
it included a highly fictionalized account of joseph being abused by his brothers for serving god and being loved by jacob.
there was no mention of joseph's dreams that degraded his brothers and father.

I don't have one friend in that group. Which is the reason I can't wait to get out. I have tons of friends from school and so far this summer I have done stuff with them everyday! My parents are starting to get suspicous I think.

I don't care about the idea of prom but I was pissed that I couldn't take my best friend who I really like.... It just sucks how restrictive some parents are...

Lack of true friends as a Witness
by stuckinamovement init was kind of a sad realization i had the other day that as a witness you are conditioned to not have friends.
i realize that most of this fact is related to my own stupidity and arrogance.
when i was in my teenage years i had a great group of friends that i ran around with.

I know I dread graduation next month because it will prevent me from being with my friends, but hopfully I will be able to move out very soon afterwards and start living my life!!!!!

Did anyone try to go to the high school prom ?
by Pitchess Co-Gen ini remember being a high school senior and wanting to go to prom ( i graduated from high school in 2003 ), but prom was forbidden when your a jw teen.
i even said to my parents if i took a witness girl would it be ok; they actually said yes.
i found a girl ( yes she's a witness ) to go with me, but here's the kicker she agreed to go.

I want to go with a girl who I really like but I am now allowed... It really sucked telling her I couldn't take her and she doesn't understand why...
