by ScoobySnax inits almost a year now since the horrific attacks on the wtc, everytime i see those news clips of planes smashing in to the trade centre towers i feel sick to my stomach.
to see innocent people jumping from windows to certain death and the courage of police firefighters and innocent people caught up in this horror truly humbles me as a jw.
its a terrible world we live in, and though my beliefs about the solution to this differ from most on this board, i sure you like me will take a few minutes out this wednesday 11 to remember so many good people who lost their lives, and those that gave theirs, unselfishly trying to help others.

Inactive.....but curious....
by ScoobySnax ini was just thinking after reading some of the posts, and wanted to ask you something..... do any of you feel, and i mean right in the back of your minds, that jws might still have the true faith (truth).
i've been inactive for a few years now and don't attend meetings at the kh, apart from the memorial, and occasional convention.
please don't shout me down, its just that to me, even though i've been out for a while and my reasons for "drifting" away were very painful to me, i don't feel as the majority do here.

Please don't shout me down, its just that to me, even though I've been out for a while and my reasons for "drifting" away were very painful to me, I don't feel as the majority do here. I realise from reading alot of posts that some have had some awful experiences and been treated badly by those who are in the congregations by elders or others that were supposed to be "loving".....maybe I am fortunate that I never experienced that, and maybe thats why I can't feel as most do here about the Witnesses, In my mind even though there are ones who treat the flock badly, I just can't condemn the whole organisation because of that, who mostly I feel, are made up of good honest people trying there best to serve Jehovah. (and you must remember like me, it wasn't easy!) Maybe I've answered my own question, I'm not sure. I still in my heart believe this is the Truth and always I think will, even though inactive. Anyway, I don't want to offend anyone here, I was just curious. (and you know what that did to the cat!) Now don't go getting all "narky" on me now!!!

TWICKENHAM CONVENTION
by ScoobySnax indoes anyone remember attending the district conventions at twickenham stadium in london?
big north east south and west stands that were made of what looked like green corragated metal.
i can always remember the delicious smell of coffee, doughnuts and bacon rolls, and queing up with 5p meal vouchers whilst dribbling all over my songbook.

Last time I went a couple of years back, they'd built a whole new stadium, no bacon rolls, no 5p meal vouchers, and only a fleet of ice-cream vans outside. A "99" Mr Whippy with a flake is no substitute for a bacon roll. Still, at least I never dribbled on my songbook......... ahhh, happy days

Why do you say that Flip??? I think as a nurse in the NHS I do quite alot for others, even as a "Jehovahs Bystander" regardless of their faith or beliefs. People like you puzzle me, but your entitled to your opinion I suppose.

This also extends to many innocents who suffer under regimes such as those of Iraqs and other countries. May Jehovah remember them all, as I'm sure he will.

Thanks for all your nice welcomes and some of those graphics!!! LOL. Just give me time!..... So how'd you start on this thing?... where do I start!!!????.......... Well I'm inactive for a few years now, but have been "lurking" for a while now on this site, and have even got the "feel" of what different posters are about. I can't honestly say that I feel as most of you do, I still got alot of affection for the witnesses, and what I still believe to be the truth. Its very difficult as even though I respect your views and I come here of my own accord, I couldn't help feeling as a "lurker" a bit hurt sometimes about things posted. There does seem to be so much anger and bitterness here, and maybe thats where the confusion on my part stems from, I don't think I could ever feel about the JWs as you do (or the GB, the ORG, the "BORG" lol... whatever you call it), on the whole I have never experienced that, despite problems I have encountered, the elders, brothers and sisters have been nothing but loving and helpful towards me. Thats not to say that I'm saying points raised here onJWD are invalid, not by any means. I've read so many of yours, and my heart goes out to some of you, .... but its just my own personal experience. Well there's an opening for ya!..........have I made any friends? (lol) Thanks again for the warm welcomes. look forward to hearing more. Scott

Hello..........oh dear.. into the lair of the apostates I tread!......... First things first though you baaaaaad bad people.....I want one of those Icon pics like you've all got......I've just registered and confused already, but that doesn't take much. If this gets through I'll tell you a little about myself, although by the time I've worked out how to respond, you probably would have moved on and forgotten about me anyway. I'm in England and I'm honestly not as dizzy as I sound!! Ha ha Scott
