Hello, I am Vivamus' Mum and new to the board
by Country_Woman ini am vivamus' mum, and i have heard so much about you, that i'd like to meet you all myself.
i joined the witnesses in 1998, but i have always doubted the organization, but not the faith.
i am still jehovah's witness, but i am sure that the elders will kick me out as soon as possible, should they know what my real thoughts about the organization are.

Princess Diana.....remember??!!
by ScoobySnax influffy i know.
but tonight i was thinking it must be almost 6 years since diana was killed in that car crash in paris, and i was thinking about the outpouring of grief that happened not just here, but around the world.
i never was one of the ones that went to london on the day of her funeral as at the time i was flying back from a holiday in turkey, but i remember it appearing in newspapers out there and people of different nationalities coming up to me and expressing their condolences, particulary this french bloke hugging me whilst i was sitting around the pool a couple of days after the crash!.

tKingdom Melodies I remember/liked.
by ScoobySnax inok bucking the trend here, but there was some kms i liked, alot of stick has been given to "gods loyal love"....well i liked that one.
nice melody.. i think song 4 "gods promise of a paradise" too.
and song number 15 "life without end at last".....remember this was in the brown book....still like that one, especially at conventions, always guaranteed to be on the sunday programme, still get teary eyed at that one.. what i want to know is what happened to "keep your eyes on the prize"....i can remember writing those words out on a sheet and hanging it in my room, surely the classic jw kingdom melody of all time...guaranteed at conventions circa 70's/80/s......still miss it, and hum it even now occasionaly.

SIMON!!!! how could you!!!!!.....well I guess you just did. I liked her anyway. She messed up this archaic Royal family that we've got, totally out-smarted them. And made them look like the cold lauding it over everyone, out of date, hangers on, shabby lot that we have today. She was manipulative and had a degree of control over the press, I agree. but good luck to her. She knew how to beat the Royals at their own game. I still miss her.

I wonder if people still remember her with fondness, or if like most events, they fade. I was lucky once to meet her in a museum in London about 1994, in she walked into this huge foyer of the British museum that was virtually empty, with a couple of others and walked passed me, as she did, she stopped and said directly "how are you....having fun?" and with that gave me this fantastic wink with those unforgettable blue eyes of hers.(LOL) Course I was stuck to the spot!!!, then off she went. Contrast this to a visit to our hospital from Princess Anne a couple of years back, all she did with her white gloves on and scraped back hair (like she just got off of a horse) was look totally dis-interested as she moved up the line asking each of us "Are you local" etc etc...
So I guess I was a bit sold and mesmorised by Diana,. What do you think? ...was she a force for good? or just a manipulator?

After having sat through Disneys "The Sleeping Beauty" today with my 5 year old niece Meg, I have to add that one to my list. "Malificent" the wicked fairy put in a remarkable appearance, what a bitch! LOL
