Shotgun....thanks. Canada huh? I flat shared with a girl from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, whilst I was doing my training 10 years ago, she was wicked!, Now there's one girl I'd loved to have worked with, she had such an attitude! We were like soul mates. (though she thought my accent was funny!) Last I heard she was working on a Specialised Unit in Regina. God I miss her advice, she always used to pick me up!

Ever feel like you just wanna chuck it all in.....?
by ScoobySnax inok i'm whinging here, but have you ever felt that way about your job/career?
take today, i'm supposed to be on pa (holiday) from my job, but got called in this morning, turned up on my ward, and ended up staying all day to support the nurses in the team.
we had 3 cardiac arrests, 1 psychotic patient who was threatening to stab someone, and the usual abusive relatives, who can't seem to see beyond themselves and what they expect.

Valis....thats an idea, but would hate to be classroom orientated all the time, I think you loose your clinical "hands on skills" reading from a book. A greek god eh??!!!
SS... Not sure!! probably winning the lottery and moving to greece with a pool and a nice appartment, flying home occasionaly etc etc !!
Would hate to leave my team, they are so good, Ironically we were recognised last month as an example team for the other wards to follow.......but at what expense! (whinge whinge....!)

Constantly short staffed, I'm unable to fill vacant posts due to lack of funding, morale is at an all time low, yet constantly I'm told to try and motivate my team from the higher echolons, and push them harder. I went to a nurses managers meeting this morning and really lost my temper with it all. Audits, targets, and ever impossible financial targets to meet is not why I chose this career. The job that I'm currently acting up as, that I'm expected to interview for when I get back from Greece, I no longer want. Everyone is so demoralised. I can no longer stay Clinical, whilst acting in a Managerial post. The staff on the ward work so hard, and no way do I want to burden them any further with instructions from those above me.
What do you do when you feel enough is enough? I'd like to chuck it all in and go for a less stressful job. I feel sad because this is a job I trained for and love so much, like many of my peers. What do you reckon? Sorry to go on, just needed to unload!

The New System of Things - How much longer?
by Nosferatu inthis post isn't about "how much longer until the new system of things" arrives.
i'm wondering how much longer people will buy this load of crap?
the society has been telling the r&f that armageddon is right around the corner for 124 years now, and they're still using this method.

The Worst Thing You Ever Did As A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inwhat's the worst thing you did as a jw?.......for me, it was to help other persons come to love the "organization".

Failing to give my sister some needed support when she came home at the age of 17 and told me she was pregnant. Failing to attend her hastily arranged wedding, Failure to support her before her JC appointment.
Happiness at how close we are now, and can sit and chat for hours.

I would not lend a hand!
by Mecurious? inremember this line below from the old phill collins song?
"well, if you told me, you were drowning i would not a lend a hand"!
are there some people who you despise so much that you wouldnt stop to help them if they were drowning or otherwise in need of dire medical attention?

Try being a charge nurse for a week, there's plenty there that I wouldn't normally cross over the street to piss on if they were on fire, abusive drunks, druggies, violent individuals......... but once they come into hospital, they are treated the same as the next......
