One bloke set his dogs on us once back in the early 90's, that was a bit scary. Would love to hurry back there now in a hit an run to smack him over the head with some double-glazing literature....... the bastard.....

Doors you were afraid to knock on
by JH inwhen you were in the field service, were there some doors that you did not want to knock on, by fear?
in my city there is a hells angels bunker and that group is called the "nomads".
a door i would not knock on in any circumstance.

Administering a Blood Transfusion.....D/F grounds?
by ScoobySnax inok, after 10 years of being qualified, and setting up 100's of blood transfusions as a nurse, i wonder how the society would judge me.
personally i wouldn't take blood myself, but in my job if that is what is prescribed and the patients (99%) of them have consented, then it is my duty to follow medical directions, otherwise i would be professionally negligent in my care.
i have no problem with this as each patient makes an informed consent as to their treatment.. i wonder though, had i been active as a jw, whether this would be grounds for re-proof or even less likely d/f.

I wonder though, had I been active as a JW, whether this would be grounds for re-proof or even less likely D/F. I thought about this more today as we had a Witness patient who was being "pressured" into taking a transfusion. The patient of course refused, and I was more than happy to support them, and contacted the HLC for advice.
Waffling here, but you get my drift.......... where would you stand?

Any doors that had them stickers on them that said "Jesus Christ is Lord" or "Thank God for Jesus" "Carpenter requires Joiners" or CH--RCH.....what is missing? UR. I just knew we were gonna be there for the best part of an hour, with no-body really listening on either side.

Please don't credit JW's as mindless robots following a blind organisation. It does a dis-service to many here, whilst only satisfying a few. I guess thats my point.

LL......I'll stand reproved here then for remembering the good times. I remember my mum struggling to get me and my sister to the meetings despite her suffering from "nerves" when we were kids.
I'll remember being an absolute git of a child as my mum struggled to get us on that bus to the Kingdom Hall whilst my dad sat at home
I'll remember going to the conventions and being proud to wear my lapel badge advertising the latest D.C.
I remember hitting my teens and struggling to come to terms with who I was.
I remember being in my 20's and still holding onto the truth on one hand, yet feeling a desire to meet a mate of the same sex, which I did. I remember having fun.
I remember that all going pear shape, yet still I went on...
I remember going back to the Memorial, the D Convention, just attending the occasional meeting, or just meeting a brother or sister recently whilst shopping in Tesco's for a chat
I can remember so much, alot of it hurts, but I could never beat up my brothers and sisters about it. Maybe I was lucky looking back. I'm still looking here.
