When I was a kid, I remember sitting in class, waiting for the playground breaks so I could show the other kids my dinosaur collections. I had real fossils, plastic T-Rex's Triceratops and Diplodocuses. This must have been 1977, and I was 7 years old. I can remember being really frustated that no-one in the playground/school yard shared my enthusiasm at the time, or was the least bit interested, they were all into Action Man and Evil Kneivel. I can remember my teacher calling me Dinoboy and other kids laughing. LOL

In 1993 when I read that a Dinosaur film was coming (at 23!) I was so elated that people had got switched onto the excitement of Dinosaurs. 2 Films later, I still watch them and look in awe at them (I know I know its a film)

I still can't help myself, I am absolutely fascinated with Dinosaurs. They are still magical, and if I had a time machine, I'd just want to go back and watch them for an hour or so. God Bless John Hammond!!

I don't think God is fair./what do u think?

my therapist and i talked about the bible, specifically, adam and eve and their sinning by eating from the forbidden fruit.

he says it is really a great lesson on consequences of your actions.

i agreed and we talked at some length about it, but one thing i decided, god was not fair.

Maybe its a topic for another thread, but you just said that Adam and Eve didn't exist........Recently I saw you commented on a thread saying you were still in "good standing" and attended the meetings. Why would you still do that? I can elaborate more if you want me to in another thread

Refusing magazines/books from JW relatives

recently my mother dropped in on us and in front of other people, very nicely handed me some trinkets aka dust collectors for my house and some wts magazines.

the way she handed everything to me at once i just held out my hands and took it all.. i threw the magazines away immediately, i consider them trash and don't even want them around... but then decided exactly what i was going to do.

i am going to buy a yard sale cross or virgin mary statue and give it to my mom.. i specifically told her i don't want any publications and she slipped them in anyways.... so, on that note, she hates any religious icons, i am going to give her something that she doesn't want.

Valiant......that maybe true, but as my old Granny used to say "2 wrongs don't make a Right".......No one is criticising Tickled just offering advice.. Now from this she can either take it or leave it (like I've been told in my dilemnas!)

JTP.... It just sounds a bit sad thats all. If you don't want the magazines fine, use them as kitty litter or shredded hamster nests or whatever anyone on here suggests, but she is your mother. Even if you dislike her and have no respect for her anymore for whatever reason, drop the handing her a statue/idol whatever it was for a laugh, just smile politely hand them back, and say "No Thanks".

Adam was perfect, and didn't the good book say he walked with God, and even spoke with God. You can't blame things on everyone else all the time. If anyone should have showed Accountability, it was Adam. He didn't.

well, its like this, for the past 3 years i've had this lump on my index finger of my right hand, hasn't really bothered me, but in the last month it really swelled up and became painful.

i reckon its a ganglion although the doctors are not sure, had it x'ray and the doctor at work says he doesn't think its anything "sinister" ....lol comforting!!.

anyway he says that because of the proximity of it, and it being close to the digital nerve, the surgery might be tricky, i need to be refered to east grinstead hospital, which is a few miles from here, and is a plastic surgery specialist centre in the uk.

I went to the GP and he asked me if I wanted to go private health or National Health. I said NHS!! I'm a poor nurse, I can't afford Private!! So he said he'd send the referal off (yesterday)........ knowing how long the NHS takes , I'll probably have a finger like ET's before anything is done!
