The word "devout" is a bit of a media buzz word in the press ascribed to JWs and also many others of different religions and faiths. I was never "devout". I was "active"(a JW buzz word!) but am now I guess an "inactive" Jehovahs Witness. Do you get "Devout" Apostates?....I reckon yes going on what I read here.....would be nice to hear from an "In-active" apostate.....do they exist?....LOL

JW/HLC visit to our hospital

a buffet lunch was provided, along with 4 talks to a large audience of surgical and medical consultants, anaetheologists, paedatricians, and obstetraticians (sp!
) about the future of blood and the transfusion of such products.

Yesterday Jehovahs Witnesses and the Hospital Liason Committee visited our hospital to donate a Blood Cell saver machine which had been funded by the local congregations in our county of Kent in England. A buffet lunch was provided, along with 4 talks to a large audience of Surgical and Medical Consultants, Anaetheologists, Paedatricians, and Obstetraticians (sp!) about the future of blood and the transfusion of such products. It was such a positive experience to hear colleagues afterwards speak so favourably of JWs and their efforts to assist in those who request non-blood management in surgical procedures, whether thay be JW or not. Despite being inactive in my faith, I, for one applaud the effort made by the Witnesses and the HLC. The Press and Media were there to record the handing over of the blood cell saver machine, which is a marvelous piece of technology in itself. A following question and answer session was given after the presentations and video show, and a lively discussion ensued. The HLC and JWs deserve praise for the efforts made.

The hardest thing...? I think missing so many good friends since I became inactive, I mean really good mates. I still drift on, busy all the time like at work, and I sort of put things right out of my head when I'm out at pubs and clubs, but really in the back of my mind the Truth is still there I think,and I don't think I'll ever lose it.... and don't think I want to. Forget it you might, all you remember, to me its still there..... don't you feel that nagging/tugging feeling.....?

Oh wait Pope......it wasn't a flippant comment?, because the WT told you when you were in, that "all would be protected, as the angels watch over them especially in service"....... that might be true that they say the angels direct the preaching work, even still what I do remember is this, and you might disagree, "Time and unforseen circumstance befall all", I do remember that being said, even to those in Jehovahs service. Even if you want to take all that aside, surely we should all as humans with feeling for each other, feel regret that this has happened to the poor woman.

I'm really hoping here that your flippant comment about "guardian angels" etc isn't typical of those who post on this forum. How heartless have you become since you left the "Borg" (tm). A woman has been murdered here in horrific circumstances, surely you weren't using this story as a point scorer against the JW faith.....coz it sure seemed like it. Everytime a post is made like that I wonder if they/you have any heart left. I'm hoping you are the exception her, and thankfully it seems you are. Its awful to think of what that trusting woman must have gone through,she could have been your sister/mother/aunt/ friend, even as someone I never knew, my thoughts go out to her memory and those who were close to her.
