  wow......... crap.

  is this the new look forum?

  i like the new posting limit instructions....."you can currently create 2 more which will increase in 462 days 17 hours 19 mins"....etc etc.....lol ....you must not post anymore, on this forum in 234 days 12 hours 9 minutes you will be ascimillated.

  Six million people mislead?

  i have done a little research since joining this board and honestly believe that jehovahs witnesses fit in the cult category.

  however what i don't understand if this is not the so called true religion as most of you have expressed how do you figure six million were mislead into believing it is the only true religion?

  i mean this is not like the heaven's gate cult or the infamous jonestown cult who had very little followers in comparison with jehovahs witnesses.

  ...."and I doubt any here would be able to come up with a WT article that says that".. etc etc.....oh don't you believe it!, all sorts of stuff comes up here!, someone somewhere will be able to lift a quote and take it out of context to back you up...... surely you've been here long enough to see that.   Hang on a minute!!.... I'm not sure JWs have ever said they must be right because "we have 6 milllion members"....I do remember them quoting the Bible that says something like only a few find the road to life, and it being narrow and cramped.... just thought I'd say before everyone gets taken with the flies on dogshit analogy. LOL

  I miss being a JW

  it seems the more time goes by, the more i miss being a jw.. i miss my friends.

  i miss the feeling of safety of the group.. i miss having hope.. i miss it a lot..

  Dissing the JWs....

  i've been inactive for a few years now, and yet, despite all i read, i can't feel as you mostly all do.

  i have a lot of happy memories of being "in the truth" (and i know how much some here hate that line) and fond memories of the meetings and assemblies, sure it was much easier to break away and live life like i am now,..... but well, thats just how i feel.

  i can understand those that may leave for personal reasons, but not sure i'll ever understand some here who have such a hatred of anything jw related.

  Ikhandi and Lacey......Thanks for your thoughtful replies. Ikhandi, I'm with you all the way, it takes a really brave person to write what you have, Like I said, I too have good memories of being a witness and serving Jehovah, and I wish you the best from my heart. I know you'll find the right way, its evident in you. Lacey, I feel (and think!!) the same too, I hope I can show love to those who are genuine and are hurting here, my love goes out to them too. People may jump on you here (from personal experience) but keep your thoughts and feelings, they are a credit to you.

  Danthe Man and SixofNine, you are right, this post has become tiresome, back and forth, getting nowhere between us. I don't understand you both, and you don't understand me. Maybe sometimes its good to disagree.... You seem to always want to debate the "issues" of this forum, but miss the basics of "why" in the first place. But enough. Thanks for a run.... its been, sort of, erm....fun. Look forward to next time!!

  i've been inactive for a few years now, and yet, despite all i read, i can't feel as you mostly all do.

  i have a lot of happy memories of being "in the truth" (and i know how much some here hate that line) and fond memories of the meetings and assemblies, sure it was much easier to break away and live life like i am now,..... but well, thats just how i feel.

  i can understand those that may leave for personal reasons, but not sure i'll ever understand some here who have such a hatred of anything jw related.

To many thats not how it is, even ones like me on the periphery. Like I said the majority here are with you, it purports to be an open forum for "anything JW related".... that is so long as you tow the anti line. I was merely saying am I missing something in my original post as that wasn't my experience. I was talking about the hatred many express about anything JW related. I just didn't and don't feel that. That was my personal experience of life as a JW, is that not accepted? You accuse me of being closed mind as I won't debate issues such as CofC, or others, well of course I won't. A whole army of ex-JWs is ready to pounce and tear, and I guess I'm not that intellectual or brave enough to fight back. But I do know what felt and feels right in my mind. And that was the point I was trying to make, not everyone feels as the majority does here. I've said before, "Freedom" is only relative to the group you are associated with. And that Freedom is "relative" here too. So yes, step back, and try and understand where I'm coming from in this "open" forum..... and have a beer too..!!!.

I don't really think I have to validate myself to Dan, he knows as do you where I stand, sure, you and him and most others here have moved on and away from that, but experience from other posts here has taught me many things, one being that to try and defend the JWs you risk, in just a post or 2, something that will set you up for being torn from limb to limb.There are decent people here, but alot of crazies too. Its up to everyone to follow the path they want to, but being as I read this was an "open forum" I took it that you could post how you feel during or after your Witness experience, I posted mine, which just happened to be diametrically opposed to the majority here. I have nothing to prove to you or the rest, as I'm sure you have not with me. Its just a discussion forum after all!!! And you moan about Judicial commitees!"!!!! LOL

  Dan.....for goodness sake...whatever. Can't you understand that I don't FEEL as you and many others do here about the WT/JWs etc.......my post was not a debate. Chill out, have a beer or something. Stop getting so angry when people here don't follow the line , all you posturing has nothing to prove here, the majority are right behind you!! Just try to accept, however boring, vague and bland it is to you, that some just don't feel as you do!
