  i want to ask a deep question here, only because i want to know your answer..... i was listening to my mum and dad tonight watching a programme on the discovery channel about how in so many million years the sun will implode or explode and destroy all life in our solar system and beyond.

  my dad was fascinated and was arguing with my mum who said it's rubbish because that isn't jehovah's purpose for the earth.

  later i was thinking.

  I want to ask a deep question here, only because I want to know your answer....

  I was listening to my mum and dad tonight watching a programme on the Discovery channel about how in so many million years the sun will implode or explode and destroy all life in our solar system and beyond. My Dad was fascinated and was arguing with my mum who said it's rubbish because that isn't Jehovah's purpose for the Earth. Later I was thinking. even before that happens, and even if you don't believe the JW faith anymore, would mankind really be around much longer, left to their own devices anyway? Currently we're only here for 80 years average max, we watch programmes like StarTrek and dream about travelling across light years to distant galaxies in 2543 or something.......(you get my drift) Even if there was no Bible, Jehovah, Armageddon New System etc, I still don't think we'd ever get that far into the future.....

  I'm waffling, but do you get my drift? How long will Mankind, in your estemation, be here?

  oooh-er i came over all american-ified there for a minute........ .

  sometimes online, someone, or some people come across as just thoroughly "decent chaps" (thats more british) they are rare types.

  i've been here just over a year and have posted some funny old stuff, sometimes when i'm angry, sometimes when i'm sad, other times when i feel critical about this forum, and sometimes some crap (as i'm sure some will remind me of) sometimes when i felt alone or worried, and lastly sometimes (coz i'm running out of sometimes) because i'm not sure where i'm headed.. throughout chris and nina, when i look back at past posts, have been kind and patient with me, particularly when i started being more honest with myself and the forum.

  Nina, went round to my dads at the weekend, and he had his "Ouzo Power" T-shirt on!! (he'd bought it in Kefalonia last year) I'd got him a couple of bottles from Corfu, so we sat in the garden, in the sun, with the family, music on, and a few shot glasses, and reminisced!!.......you know we were almost back there!!

  HOW "TRUE" ARE JW HOURS ?

  as a jw i admit to "massaging" my hours nearly every month to keep up with the expected amount.. my brother never put in hir report for nearly 2 years.

  i was amazed when i asked the secretary he told me "i allways put a few hours in if people forget" !!!

  so my brother was a regular publisher despite not going out on service.. he was one man.

  Oh.... good evening Minimus!.... whats up? You know different? When will you understand the irony of your replies....I'm sure you did do all you say, you put time in, didn't go out in service, filled bogus reports in. Now whilst I'm sure there are still some "in" as I said that may do this, the majority don't cheat, and do fulfill their ministry. Welcome to JW discussion.com, thats why you and me are here and the ones I'm talking of aren't. Thats "for real" by the way. think about it.

  Most of the JWs I know don't fudge their hours, I spent long enough with them on the Saturday morning field service group whilst territory was assigned, and watched as we all went out. We worked hard to cover the territory assigned. Since being inactive, I still see them working "the field" regularly from my viewpoint in my flat.(appartment) TMS talk I know, but either I came from a very zealous congregation, or its just another topic here to rubbish the Witnesses again.............I'm sure some may "skive" because their heart isn't in it, but the majority of Witnesses do fulfill their assignments. I watch them now and certainly don't envy them.

  ps....I've not ever bumped into any in McDonalds. LOL
