to me it showed a maturity, a kind personality and to a greater degree, people that do genuinely care.

Ya know, I don't recall "encouraging" anyone here to go back to the Organisation here, maybe you can prove me wrong in that. The trouble is Odrade you will make a statement like that, and naturally people will add to it on that supposed quote that you attribute to me. Its happened so many times before.
Valis probably got it right in me being the most prolific fence sitter, and you know that made me laugh, because it is so accurate. I'm happy to be a fence sitter. I am inactive, I still read the mags, go to the very rare JW meeting, yet still hold an opinion. I think thats a good thing even if it does wind others up here. I've gone past the stage of getting on the defensive all the time. I can state my views/beliefs on something and despite being told that if I was "in" I wouldn't be able to etc etc I'M NOT. so I can, screw everyone that says otherwise. I'll say what I think, and likewise for others to me. Put me on ignore if its that much bother.
Heres something else for ya....... Unless I get deleted. I'll continue to do so.
Sorry if that means I don't become a member of the muppet gallery.

Dawn.....I understand about the stages of grief.......lol I had to study all that bloody stuff in my medical training! I'm not convinced of it all though, not everyone fits that same pattern. But believe me, I understand that not everything is black and white.

Many here all the time are quick to label someone "Troll" and bandy it about far too much. Others are way to fast to judge someone sitting behind a computer screen they might not even understand forgetting that a person sits behind that screen. I was talking to a friend about this tonight and she said they probably wouldn't be like that in "real" life. Hmmm.
As far as JWs, of course I understand where many of you are coming from and realise that I am poking the eyeball, understand that not all feel the way you do though. Still the point I was trying to make was that it was refreshing to read replies from those who didn't split their spleen over it, but just wished her well. I thought that showed remarkable attributes.
Now who wants a punch up?

No-one and especially not me Bliss is disputing that fact, that you can post as you see fit. What is it that is not clear here? I don't need to be reminded what this forum is about. I merely said that TO ME how nice it was to see reasoned responses in wishing her well.
What I do have trouble understanding is the outright ridicule of JWs at any and every expense, and at whatever cost all the time. The good wishes of some here proved me wrong that all ex-jw forums are negative all the time.
Please tell me what is not clear?

And incase you didn't get the drift of my thread the first time, I'll say again. I thought it was great that ex-members or not, wished her well in whatever path she chose.

Then there was posts from others. If not openely ridiculing her by saying that she deserves the JW's and vice versa, to statements like "I found her post presumptious" quickly followed by "We'll be here to pick up the pieces when you come crawling back" LOL.....I mean how "presumptious" is that?? Of course a couple others just were plain nasty, to me all thats so sad and yet laughable. You see, call me presumptious or not, if these types would step outside the clique group they have now joined, they would see that they really haven't jumped further than they might like to have imagined they have. We are right, you are wrong. Lets run you down.
I will never understand who have absolutely nothing but negativity about the JWs, it borders on a kind of hatred. It must fulfill some need, but I'm not sure what. In effect, sitting behind a screen reading it, it sounds like the worst kind of elder you ever knew, having no compassion, understanding or reasoning abilities......I think alot of us knew at least one of them and knew how it felt.
If I can be "patronising" once again....... Thanks to all the posters that just accepted that she had made her own mind up, moved on, and wished her well. It was good to hear.
