I asked my best friend how the GB makes its decsions last night...
by dontplaceliterature inmy best friend does not know about my recent mental defection from the watchtower, but i am having trouble keeping my feelings from him completely....so, last night, i asked my him if he thought the governing body was always in 100% agreement about every policy/doctrine decision they make.
" i asked him how he thought they went about making those decisions and he said that, "they probably discuss it as a group, research it, read the bible together, and discuss it some more until they come to a conclusion...just like a boe would when deciding a judicial matter.
" i said: "don't you think that if they were jehovah's 'mouth-piece' and they are indeed being guided by jesus christ and holy spirit, that there would be no doubt about what the right course of action is?

I've had several. The one that clearly pops into my mind was when I was about 12 my mother told me I would be a JW or she would kill me trying, as she was beating the s**t out of me for something I had not done. When you have someone doing this to you, you tend to believe them as this was not the first time she had done this. Years later, after being a good little JW and looking at my kids one day I realized this woman had no more hold over me, nor did any of the elders. I was always guilted into it and through fear. I never went back to the hall after that. MM

Yes, but their is a distinct difference in being honest and being tactful. Ask any husband. A good phrase is, honey your face can make time stand still, the same phrase put in an honest referance, is honey your face could stop a clock! MM

An english definately! I have always wanted one but they are so expensive! I knew a lady who bred championship english bulldogs and when she had a new litter I would go and check them out. They were so adorable! Her recommendations were to buy from a reliable breeder and to get a health guarantee from the vet. She also said that while they do snort and fart, the farting can be helped by the correct diet and the same with the cleaning of the folds in the skin. Any dog has requirements from the owner and the love and affection they give in return far outweigh the things we have to do for them. Consult some sites on google as their are several professional breeders online that will be honest and give great detail as to the upkeep of the breed. Good luck and sent pics! MM

you already have a terminal disease so the thing about destroying your "body as a temple" thing is a mute point.

It is simply a matter of pain control and being able to maybe consume some food that may actually lengthen your time in this world. What are your thoughts as to what the elders would do in this situation?
