i would like to state publicly, on this forum, i no longer hold the views i had a year ago.. with much thought, research, study and logical examination i have come to a better understanding of my beliefs and where i stand on all these issues.. i'm very happy to announce i have returned to healthful teaching of the holy scriptures and i firmly believe that the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is the faithful slave.. sorry if i have contibuted to any kind of stumbling and know that if i can turn things around then there's hope for all who come to there sence.. phill4:6,7.

This is my fear with relatives I have that have left recently who are close to retirement age. It has been nice to rekindle my relationship but there is always a nagging worry that whatever reasons they have now for leaving, the strength of their indoctrination will at some point pull them back in. One needs to research properly to dispel all of that indoctrination.

As for the OP, what you said reminded me of the Catholic confirmation ritual where they say "I renounce Satan and all his work and ways". I am sure that the act of making such a public renunciation has a psychological palliative effect on you and makes you feel better. I hope you can appreciate that we do not view ourselves as having made a mistake in leaving - quite the reverse, so your post will rankle, but on a human level I get why you felt the need to say it.

Before you start off on that journey, why not spend a bit of time researching the religion first? Have you checked out the JWFacts site for example. You can always go back to the witnesses after your research but at least then you'll be doing so with your eyes open.

I think its only a matter of time before they do a full length disney style bible cartoon with songs like this included. They have the technology with caleb and sophia and they are churning out these songs. They just need to put it together. I wonder what bible story they will go with. Actually, come to think of it, I can see them setting it post Armageddon with flashbacks to the old system.

Do you mean the book of Enoch? The book of Enoch is an apocalyptic book written from the 4th century BCE. It took the name Enoch but that is a common trait of apocalyptic literature to reference an earlier well known biblical figure.

I know there are a lot of reports of Rutherford's heavy drinking and bad character. Jim Penton's book goes into this I seem to remember, and there is the Olin Moyles court transcript which reinforces this impression. There are enough sources of information for me to be convinced. But I don't think i have seen pictures of Rutherford with an alcohol bottle, besides the one posted. There is a youtube video with him gurning a bit at Bethsarim but there no bottle.
Are you sure you haven't misremembered the photos because they fitted the image you had about him?
mum has a mild form of lukeimia if she took blood like normal people she could live to be 100. but no, anointed sisters dont compromise jehovah wont allow it.

my boyfriend is an ex new jehovah witness and today i got a message from one of his friends asking if i could delete a comment he wrote on one of my pictures because my boyfriends mom is harassing him about it.
he also basically told me that she has people who added me just to view my profile and let her know!!!!
she also sends him messages and pictures from the watchtower.
Just to add: his mum will likely be feeling extremely threatened and panicking. Threatened because if your boyfriend is disfellowshipped, which seems a real possibility, she will lose her son. She will never be able to talk to him again, text him even. That prospect is going to make her a bit crazy.

This does sound like par for the course.
Practically, I think you should lock your facebook settings down so people u don't trust aren't spying on u. Also, its up to your boyfriend to ask u to take off the comment - you shouldn't have to deal with his friends putting pressure on you. I thought all his witness friends were shunning him anyway.
