something just downed on me when searching up a quote from the bible on google.. wasn't anything important was just gonna make a joke on a fb of a friend but i was looking for the exact words so i posted the essence on google which gave me the results and verse.

then i researched the verse itself and i realised that at least on the 3 first pages there are no links connecting to any wt site.

i mean that's great the least people lured in the better but if i were still in the "truth" i would wonder why, surely if i were preaching the truth and the internet is such a media in today's society i would want to see some reference of the any scripture linking back to the wt site at least on the first couple of pages and i would like to see them putting some effort on that when it's zero.

Yea but you can type jw. in google and jw.org is the first site listed. (could that be considered an easter egg?)

Can you find anything on that site in the genral results via google? You can search directly by using site:jw.org in your search, and If I copy some text from a watchtower article and search, it does find the article on the site. So jw.org appears to be indexed.

But I have never seen a random result linking to anything on the jw site. I think it is likely because most of the people using that site just go there and search rather than using a search engine to find stuff.

What Is The World View Of America?

a lot of people felt that the usa's reputation was terrible, especially under president bush.

then obama became president and we heard how the rest of the world felt that finally they had a person that would respect them and their views and work with them!

the new president even ot a nobel peace prize because of the world's perception.. what's your view of america?

My real opinion is that as an American I really don’t know how good or bad we have it since it is all I know.

My concerns are the debt and what is going to happen when it comes due. We are trillions of dollars in debt and I sure don’t see any benefits from it. We are letting corporations make all the decisions. Despite all the taxes we pay we are pretty much left on our own when we retire.

I can say it is probably one of the best places on earth to be in prison. Not that I have been there either.

What is the main "idea" of the bible?

as jws we were often told what the theme of the bible is, we were taught that it was the promised seed.. i was recently asked the question.... what is the main "idea" of the bible?.

for me the whole purpose of the bible is about control.

it features a god that punishes and rewards.

it was written to confuse us and guide us to the one-world government.

Interesting thought. Do you thnk this was started thousands of years ago and is just now coming to true? Or maybe it was the real criteria for which books got included in the bible?

Anyone know where to get support?

i blew up and dumped my girlfriend on monday over a silly little thing.

it's been happening in pretty much every relationship i get involved in.

it never happened before my marriage.. during my marriage, i was alone almost all the time.

Maybe something like al-anon coda or acoa. These seem somewhat related to alcoholic family members but I don't think they mind if you are liberal with what you consider being affected by someone in your life that used alcohol.

I find meditation to be helpful. Plenty of YouTube videos to get you started.

Keep trying differnt things till you find the one that works.

And if it doesn't work the first time around it might help at a later time if you try again.

Kate, do you think God had a part in writing the bible?

I find myself thinking that if there is a God and God is good and Satan is evil that Satan probably was the one that wrote the bible.

I don’t really know what to make of the bible. It does seem to have had some sort of organization or coordination between the different books. This would suggest it had or has a purpose, but it doesn’t seem very accurate. I have to admit I haven't done much bible reading or research since leaving the JWs so my understanding could be quite skewed.

My current belief is that we have no clue what is going on and sometime in the future we will find out things are not as they seem. I probably won’t be around to see it. If there is a creator I don’t think he created humans directly. Maybe the universe was started by some sort of creator and we are just a side effect or something.

If there is a creator of us directly I think he is probably looking down on us and thinking “I gave these guys everything to create a great life for themselves and they spend their time fighting over who is right".

I think at this point Americans probably have the worst view of America.

Record number of Americans give up citizenship

It is disheartening to think that there is virtually no way to get ahead because the government keeps finding new ways to take and spend your money.
